Nerdanel looks... unusually frazzled.

A world... but from a distance. A height, perhaps. Then... a light. Passing like a ripple of warning, leaving destruction in it's wake.

[ She agrees ]
I don't know. But perhaps there is a way to get them off their world?
no subject
I certainly hope there is a way to get them off their world, if that wave-of-destruction part of the vision comes true! I wonder if they have transport ships that will carry hundreds or thousands or even tens of thousands of people?

Yes, we must offer the people we are supposed to help whatever help we can give.

Perhaps the train could accomodate a few?
no subject
I'm sure we could pack some extra people in here, but we'd be leaving so many behind! I really hope it doesn't come to that -- us trying to save people and having no way to save them all.

I wish I had better answers!

I wish I had better answers, too.

[ She smiles at him fondly ]
Where are you, my Atarinke? Can your mother request a hug?
no subject
I would love to give you a hug, Amil! I'm still in Cabin 2:A, since I just woke up. You can come to me, or I can come to you, whichever you prefer.

action
All right! I'll be right here.
[ He unlocks the door and wedges his tool satchel in it so that it can't lock itself again. His mother should not have to knock. He combs his wild black hair while he waits. ]
Re: action
((ooc: lol actually it's a contraction - yondo = son + onya = my child -> yondonya => yonya))
[ A smile and Nerdanel turns off the ICP and gets up, going to knock on his door ]
Are you causing trouble for your roommates, my Atarinke?
no subject
[ Curufin hears the knock, puts the comb down on his bunk, and pulls the door open. He smiles brightly at his mother, and a few uncombed locks of his hair straggle down his shoulders. ]
Me, cause trouble for my roommates? [ He points at his chest in a who, me? gesture. ] No, unless you count my falling out of my bunk with a great racket, before that other mission when I woke from a prophetic dream. This time, the dream didn't startle me so much.
How are you doing, Mother?
no subject
Well enough.
[ She smiles, reaching out to tidy his hair for him ]
And I am surprised, my darling, as you were never comfortable without a forge, so long as I knew you!
no subject
[ He grins engagingly when she takes over tidying his hair. ]
You're right about that, I never felt quite complete without forging tools, fine materials, and a shop to work in. I have some of my tools, though not all. I brought them with me onto the train. But materials are scarce, and so is work space. But I'd never make my roommates pay for those lost opportunities! I try to find other activities to absorb my considerable energy and general restlessness, so I don't annoy my cabinmates with my hyperactivity.

[ She smiles at him fondly ]
I am glad to see it. And how are you entertaining yourself, my dear?
no subject
[ He smiles back, adoringly. ]
I mostly entertain myself by interacting with people. But I always seize the opportunity to craft an item, if there's the need and the materials. And I dance when I can, and I play my flute, and I even skated on the ice once, when the train turned the garden coach into a winter scene and froze the pond!

You have improved. [ She says when he finishes ]
Makalaure must be pleased!
no subject
Thank you. I've had the opportunity to practice a lot, since I left our world. I hope Makalaurë is pleased! He did get me started on being an instrumentalist, back in those early years of my childhood. I always tried to take his advice and his teachings to heart.
no subject
I'm glad.
[ She says wistfully ]
I wish sometimes, that I had gone with you. I missed so much of your lives.
