Its whole atmosphere was on fire, it looked like.

And then that fear - it wasn't mine, but it stabbed right through me, so it may as well have been.

I saw a light bursting from the surface. [ She shakes her head ] Spreading like Morgoth's creeping shadows but very, very, fast.

Will's own visions tended to be of the present and the past. The future was a skill he hadn't learned yet.

At times like this he wondered whether he should perhaps be trying to learn.

[His tone shifted to more gentle.]

Is someone there with you? I can come to wherever you are if you'd like me to.

[He was sure Feanor was on top of this, but that was his best buddy's wife. That meant she was important and he cared about her. He'd do just about anything for her.]

[ Curufin is just out of bed on the morning of Day Six of the month of Egret. He looks a little frazzled, too. He rubs his hair and looks straight into the ICP screen. ]

I just had a dream. [ Small smile. ] Luckily it didn't hurl me out of bed onto the floor this time.

I found myself in a long passageway whose walls were steel plates. There were red warning lights flashing and an alarm screaming at us. A mechanical voice announced, Shields critical! I came to a viewing platform and from it I could see that we were high above a planet hanging in space. It was suddenly smacked by a wave of energy that came from I know not where, but I could see the wave ripping across that world's surface. It's sky flared red with that energy, a brilliant rubescent glow that was increasing by the second.

Suddenly the platform shook, lurching to the side. All the lights went out, and I was in the dark. The dream ended there.

It was too brief a dream to yield much information. So I don't know whether the platform was struck by the same force as the planet was. If so. . .

[ Well, it's possible everybody on the orbiting platform was killed. Not to mention everybody on the planet's surface. He doesn't much like either of these ideas! As you can tell by his frowny face. ]

I think it was. I dreamt of a world dying.

Me as well. It seems that we both are going to have prescient visions whenever we're about to go on a mission.

It looked to me like that world was in bad trouble. What did you see, exactly?

"I mean...Curufin has dreams about this kind of stuff before missions and it's usually fine? We'll just know what we need to watch out for, and we can avoid anything bad happening."

"My Atarinke does?" She breathes, counts the breaths in and out, forcing herself to calm. "Perhaps. But this was..."

Reigen looks a bit concerned at that. "...did you see something specific, Nerdanel?"

I do not know. But my people have always had some gifts in this area, although mine are not so strong as others.
