[ Guess who's trying really hard to ignore all the more aggressive posts on here. ]

Um.. H-Hi everyone! In case anyone doesn't know yet, I'm M.. Madoka Kaname, nice to meet you.. [ Is she looking more nervous than usually though? For sure. Although that's not because of the mood of the last posts as much as she's dying internally at the thought the whole train can hear and see her right now. ]

M-Maybe some of you might remember that a while ago mister Stark suggested we could put plants around the train.. I thought it'd be a good idea s-since it'd be good for both the air and just for making things look nice, so.. E.. Evie and I volunteered to work on it! But there's only two of us, so..

[ She sucks in a deep breath. You can do it, Madoka. You almost said your piece! ]

We.. could use some help, if anyone wants to help. The boxes all need to be p-put together, and the plants need to be taken care of in the l.. long run too. So I thought maybe we could start a gardening club.. I was part of a gardening club back home at school, so if you don't know what to do, I.. I can help you! But if people already know a lot about plants, it'd be g-great if they could help too..!

Um, of course it's voluntary, but.. i-it'll be fun. I think. And you can work together with Evie too then, and she's really pretty and smart and nice..! [ And, you know, Madoka is also pretty cute. But she apparently has no compliments for herself to spare here.

Also, her face is starting to turn the same colour as her hair by now. ]

I.. I think that's all..! T-Thank you so much for listening to me and I'm sorry for taking up your time-- ouch!

[ She was bowing to end the message politely, but instead just accidentally bumped her head in the process.

[Tony curses and turns the ICP off. Okay, Mady, you're off the hook.

He looks around the train to find the other man.]

Is this private enough or do we need to go to our room?

Somehow when Ignis looked up he isn't surprised at all to see his fiancee' standing there and there's a serene sort of smile as he's working on an almost final draft of the paperwork for the council. There's still a few blank spots like godparents, more back up plans and what Madoka wants for her last name to be. "Hello darling."

He got up, moving to walk over to Tony after locking the car door. At first he's confused why Tony wants to talk because his mind is on paperwork. "Private.."

Oh. Then it hits him.

The advisor goes straight for holding onto Tony's collar and looks into those beautiful coffee coloured eyes.

"Darling, I just want Madoka to be comfortable with whatever you're proposing for her to do. She doesn't have your go getter temperament. So if you talk to her privately, you two can decide what to do from there."

"Forgot alright?" He asked with a chuckle. Clearly he hadn't been too bad on the ICP then if Ignis had forgotten.

"And I want her to get some confidence and learn how to talk on the ICP. There's only one way to do that- practice. It was the first thing I could think of to give her some practice."

There was more affectionate curling of the collar and Ignis smiled. "I know darling. You're trying to instill confidence in our daughter and I love you for it."

Tony received a soft kiss to his cheek after those words had been spoken. "And I'm probably being a horribly overprotective parent and I admit it." He gave another soft kiss and smiled. "And if I haven't told you lately, I think you're doing wonderfully with her."

Tony shook his head. "But you don't like how I was going about it, right?" He slipped his arm around Ignis' waist, keeping him close. "I'm used to a five year old where you can convince them to do just about anything if you put enough enthusiasm behind the request. Like 'Whooo! This is going to be so much fun! Let's go upstairs and do your favorite thing in the world! A bath!' And off she goes."

He chuckled at the memory and gave Ignis a return kiss. "I didn't want her to think I thought she'd done anything wrong with her message."

"She's a young teenager darling." Ignis smiled. The smile faded a bit but then returned. "I just want her to be sure she wants to do something and not do it just to please you or even myself. And you have a charming ability to make people want to push themselves just to please you."

The advisor knew all too well what he was talking about. "She didn't do anything wrong and was actually very brave to post in a time of..more serious matters." Pointless dick waving is what he'd call it but he refrained.

"What's wrong with someone pushing her? That's how you get better at things. You find your limit and you push past that." He really wasn't getting why this was a big deal. "You know Kaito's teaching her how to fight, right?" Which Tony approved of, but hopefully Ignis did too.

"Well right, and I agree. That's why I thought if she could get some practice.." They were going around and around on this. "Sometimes when I try to give Peter tips he gets very self-conscious about it. So that's why I was coming up with a different way to approach this." Tell him to get his head out of his ass though. That might help.

Ignis withdrew himself from Tony at hearing all of this and he sat back down at the table with a sigh. This was just like the conversations he'd had with Gladio about Noctis. The shield accused him many times of spoiling or coddling the king, especially when it came to things like not forcing him to eat vegetables.

He didn't want to push against Tony but instead to try to find some way that would balance and produce a solution that had Madoka's best interests at heart. Hearing someone else was teaching their daughter how to fight wasn't happy news either and Ignis felt lost at trying to find a balance between holding onto the daughter he just got while also trying to figure out how the hell to let go.

"Hey," Tony followed Ignis to the table and sat down across from him. He held out a hand to take his fiancee's. "I'm really asking. I want to do this in a way you'll approve of too. It's important to me what you think is right."

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I'm just making this up as I go along, just like I did with Morgan. That's the only reference I have too. I can't rely on what my parents did because.. well, at least my dad was horrible. So, I really want to know what you think."

"Yet you sound determined and on a set course of action." Ignis quietly pointed out. There was no bite to his words, they actually sounded more tired and resigned. His hand tightened around Tony's because he was worried and didn't want their different approaches to parenting to be combustible.

Green eyes worriedly looked at the older man and he sighed. "Darling..do you think it would be a good idea for us to set some ground rules for each other with this? I've no wish to fight you and I want to protect our daughter more than anything."

Tony glanced down at their hands a moment before finding Ignis' gaze again. "I'm sorry. I'm used to situations where I have to come up with those things and sound confident even if I have no idea what I'm doing. I didn't mean to use that tone with you. The truth is, I really don't know and I'm just trying to take a guess at what might work. I'm willing to hear you and your thoughts."

He nodded at the suggestion. "I'd be willing to come up with ground rules if you think that would help, especially if it'll help me understand what you want better."

A slightly worried crinkle showed but Ignis looked at Tony. "I want her to be as confident as she can be. And of course I want her to grow and become who she truly is. But I want her to go at her own pace. Pushing is fine, as long as it's a gentle pushing. And if she backs down or isn't ready, I want that to be respected."

Really he wasn't sure how much plainer to make that. But he would address the other thing too. "Depending on what she seems to lean towards, perhaps you or I could help train her as well."

Tony's frown deepened but he nodded. "That's fair. That being said, I hadn't mean to push her in a non-gentle way. I'm not quite as close as you and her are, so I'm going to make a few mistakes about this but I'm going to figure it out. You and she have gone on missions together."

The other part had him thinking for a moment. "Do you know Kaito? Maybe you should get to know the other kids who hang out with her a lot. Kaito's a good kid. He's not going to hurt her intentionally. But, besides that I think your idea is a good one too. We should see where she is training wise and see if there's something we can do to help. She still has her taser right?"

"I do want you two to become closer." Ignis said, not wanting to sound like he was pushing Tony out of the picture or something along those lines. His hand squeezed his fiancee's for emphasis on this.

He thought a moment at the new line of questioning and shook his head. "I haven't met the lad but I've seen him around." There was a small tentative smile as Tony then agreed with him. "Yes and she still has her shield still as well."

"Oh, no.. Tiger, I'm not worried about that." He lifted Ignis' hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. "I'm just saying I need you to help me and be patient with me while I have a bigger learning curve than you on how to deal with her. I'm admitting you know her better. But I'm also mentioning that I didn't think she'd react quite like that when I thought of the idea or I wouldn't have done it. You can trust me. I'm not wanting to the dad who is tough on her." He screwed up and he knew it. Ignis just happened to notice it too.

He gave Ignis a friendly smile at that. "He's one of Peter's friends and is the guy scared of fish. He's often in the game room if you ever want to meet him. I know you don't really like meeting new people," he chuckled, and gave Ignis a wink- he's kidding!- "But a dad's gotta know who their kid is hanging out with."

Somehow the dark clouds that had seemed to be hanging around dissipated when Tony called him 'Tiger'. To him it was a sign that everything would be alright, much like his fiancee's old gesture of offering his hand as he had a little earlier. Little gestures like that just meant so very much to Ignis. He smiled shyly too as his hand was kissed. By the Six he loved the hell out of the man across from him.

"No, you're rather the fun parent." This was said as a light tease though it was meant. "And I do trust you, with my life and that of our daughter's."

There was an answering smile to Tony's suggestions. "I now have a reason to meet new people if they concern our Madoka."

Madoka really tried to just go on and talk to a few more people, but she can't put those messages between Tony and Ignis out of her head.. and in typical Madoka fashion, she starts fretting about it so much that she can't really focus on anything else anymore.

So onward she goes, quickly trying to look through the train to find out where the two men went. It takes a little while for her to find them, but when she hears the muffled sound of voices coming from behind one of the doors, she's pretty sure she found the right place.

The girl has no idea the door is locked, but it's not like she wouldn't have knocked first anyway, so she does just that.

"U.. um..!" She has to raise her voice a little to make sure she's heard through the door. "Is... everything okay? Are you fighting? I'm sorry.."

Tony can't help but smile at being called the 'fun parent' and that he was trusted. Both were very sweet and humbled him.

"I don't know that I'm the only fun parent. You're the one who was out there making snowmen with her, after all." Just as he was getting up to slid into Ignis' side of the booth, he heard a tap at the door to the quiet room they were in. He looked up and smiled when he saw who it was.

Opening the door wide enough for her to come in, he shook his head. "No, it's okay sweetie. You don't need to be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong."

"I'll have you know that she asked me, not the other way 'round." Ignis returned playfully. And he was looking forward to Tony coming over but then a kick came on the door. After an apprehensive look at his fiancee', he heard the change in the older man's voice to give away who it was.

Standing up with a smile, the advisor couldn't help but feel better.

Since he couldn't hear what was said, he was immediately concerned. "What's going on?"

It's such a relief to see that smile on Tony's face when he appears at the door. Said relief is definitely visible on Madoka's face too. At first she looks worried while frowning, but after she's realised he's smiling the tension moves out of her expression entirely and is replaced by a small smile. She's just really glad they aren't arguing or something because of her, because it'd make her feel so guilty.

But since everything seems alright and Tony is inviting her in, she does walk into the quiet room. Madoka smiles at Ignis too, before quickly wanting to reassure him. "Ah-- it's nothing..! I just wanted to make sure you weren't mad.."

At each other, she means, not at her. Even though that goes unsaid.

"But also.. um, I wanted to say that if you really think it would be good for me to send messages like that more often, I.. I can try." She mostly looks at Tony as she says that, since it was his idea. And she kind of feels bad for her brain shutting down on him back there. "I have to be honest and say it's really scary.. B-But I also know I have to try out scary things. So I can become stronger."

Tony felt the guilt Madoka was trying to avoid sharply. Her worry tells him that his discussion with Ignis had been too public and obviously she wasn't used to his combative nature. He glanced at the other man, feeling terrible but hoping the advisor would feel better knowing it wasn't anything outside of the two of them causing the girl to worry.

He crouched down so he was at her level and gave her a sheepish smile- one he didn't feel that much, but he wanted to relief her worries anyway. "That's really kind of you to check on us, Mady. We weren't mad at you or each other. Sometimes.. " He hesitated and looked at Ignis before pushing forward. "Sometimes we banter which is like play fighting or we have a discussion that might not sound friendly, but Ignis and I are just taking the topic seriously. We're okay though." He looked at Ignis with a hopeful 'right?' look.

He almost winced at hearing she was afraid. "It's um.. you don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm glad you're willing to tell me honestly how you feel. It was wrong of me to spring it on you like that and I'm sorry." Pause. "And I already know you're strong, so you don't have to prove anything to us."

As exultant as Ignis felt, he knew he'd been right. And watching Tony crouch down as he himself usually did drove the point home.

Nodding at Tony's look, the advisor moved to be closer to the two. "We're trying to do our best by you, but we were never angry at you or each other. We simply have two very different approaches to things like raising a daughter together."

Ignis Scientia master of understatement.

Green eyes went to Tony and then to Madoka at hearing she was afraid but wanted to get stronger. "In that you remind me of Tony. But we're always here should you need us."

The advisor took his mate's hand for comfort and he reached for hers as well.

Madoka seems like she's trying really hard to pay careful attention to the explanation before slowly nodding. It's definitely a new idea to her. After all, she herself doesn't have a single combative bone in her body, nor has she ever really seen her parents disagree on anything back home. But as long as the two of them both say they're alright, then she wouldn't dare to doubt that.

But then Ignis mentions the words raising a daughter together, and that makes Madoka's cheeks colour pink, even as she lets him take her hand. It's just so much to know that's how they think of her, to the point that they'd even discuss what's best for her. It's a lot to take in for a girl who thinks so little of herself, especially since it's not like they're her biological parents. They're chosing this. Chosing her.

She's not so sure about being called strong, or being compared to Tony in any way - how could she be as awesome as him! - but even so..

"Thank you.." Her eyes start to water. But before anyone can freak out about her crying, she starts to smile at the same time. They're just overwhelmed happy tears. "I'm so happy you both care so much about me.. I-- I never could've imagined that when I first showed up here and it was all kind of scary and worrying."

For a moment she almost seems to hesitate in that typical Madoka way, but then she uses her free hand to grab Tony's other hand before looking at him.

"Um, so please.. don't apologize for trying to help me. I actually think I'm really lucky."
