Video from the Gym car, Domino 17. Mingling okay! Tag around etc

[ She's been meaning to ask this for a while, but never got around to it. Until now! ]

So I know you've all just finished filling out Stark's questionnaire, but I've got another question for you. Short, this time.

This is for everyone, not just the new lot, by the way. And if you're just responding with audio, say your name before you talk, because there's a lot of us nowadays... Actually, say your name even if you're using the cameras.

[ Pause, as she remembers how to phrase the question ] Basically... What's your specialty? If you were known for something back home, or you've realised since getting here that you can do something that the rest of us can't, what is it?

[ She's still trying to figure out that whole technology business but hey, gonna give this her best shot! Roll calls are a good idea. ]

My name is Wen Qing. I'm a trained physician. For humans. [ So okay, maybe she is a little bit frustrated still after her first medical experiences. ] I can also fight with a sword and acupuncture needles, I'm a cultivator.

Using magic for healing? That's interesting, I will have to talk to the people who have been doing the healing. Ever since I got here, I have been reminded every step of the way that there is so much more to learn.

[ Which is a joy, in a way, for now she finally has the leisure to spend as much time as she likes studying. Just... well, it's also frustrating. ]

I'm still getting my bearings around your medical carriage. I believe what I will be needing the most are medical textbooks, but the information on the train will be enough to keep me busy for a while yet.

I would appreciate that very much. [ And she doesn't even try to hide her relief at having this suggested to her, not needing to bring it up herself. ] I've yet to treat anyone who is a regular human. If I'm to be of any use to these patients I will need to know what their normal, healthy state looks like. I can't treat them if I don't know whether something is an aberration or healthy vitals for their species.

I already met a man whose regular temperature is so high it would count as a dangerous fever for a human and someone else who reacts sensitively to something I wouldn't have thought to keep him away from without being told. [ Speaking of Taiki's blood-sickness, a vulnerability she isn't going to share freely. ]

I would appreciate it, thank you. Tell them it's completely voluntary and that it won't be an invasive procedure; I've already noticed a certain reluctance around here to see a doctor. I don't take it personally, I'm used to it.

[ She falls silent, pensive. ] I'm trying to figure out how I could be helped in this. I... am not sure how easy it would be to find a common language on these matters with someone who had different training than I did. But I want to try. Someone to transcribe would be helpful? And I'd rather not see too many patients at once, I'm still trying to make sense of everything here.

That's true.

[ She falls silent for a moment, looking like her thoughts are far away. ]

I'm glad that work is going to keep me busy. I don't think I would deal well with inactivity. [ That would be far too much time to think. ]
