Morning: Day 17 - Audio from the Kitchen

Let's play a game, because I'm bored.

[ This voice comes with music playing in the background. Nothing too exciting. Just some MISSIO. And there might be a faint tapping sound, rhythmic and following the beat of the song. Gwen has a couple of the pans from the kitchen upside down, for anyone in the kitchen with her, and she's drumming along. ]

The game we're going to play is called Two Truths and a Lie. And the rules are just that.

Tell two truths, one lie. People have to guess which is which and you tell them if they're right or not.

I'll start.

1: Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby is my favorite kind of ice cream.
2: I love my brothers.
3: I don't like cats.

[ More drumming, and a bit of singing along as she plays. ]

I was kind of a thief before, in my spare time.

I'm the White Rose of Wutai and the greatest Ninja ever!

Just "kind of" a thief? Heh.

I have no idea what Wutai is like nor what a ninja is.

Thief is such a negative word. I borrow! And sometimes forget to give it back.

[Yuffie has a very special view of the world.]

Wutai is where I am from. It is the best place ever and Ninja's are awesome. It's a form of fighting I've learned since I was a child.

I've always been pretty awesome.

I suppose that's one way to think about it...

I figured that. I've just never heard of it or what makes it "the best place ever." I suppose you ought to be good at the ninja part then if you were trained from a kid.

[Not gonna touch the rest of that with a ten foot pole.]

Well you should visit if you ever can. It's a village of proud and strong warriors. It's at the center of Gaia.

[That absolutely sounds like a place that he would avoid. Unless there's some relics he can steal. And not give back.]

Not really. It's a pretty peaceful place, unless someone messes with us.

It's the most beautiful place in the world.

You should lead with that next time. It sounds nice.

Maybe someone around will figure out interdimensional travel and I can make it there someday. [Still gonna steal something, even if it's just food and a souvenir.] Or force the train to head there.

I don't know what you're looking to hear. I'm just sayin' how it is.

[Yuffie doesn't always think before she speaks.]

Besides, if we make it there then I'm going home. Screw this train.

No one would blame you for that. No one asked to be here. I'm sure it'd be one stop of many on the way to several people's homes if it could ever be achieved. [He's not holding his breath.]

I've been to a place that turned everyone into monsters. Vampires, demons, arachnes, nagas... and more. No one brought there left unscathed. And the locals didn't like us.

Well yeah, everything can always be worse. It doesn't mean I want to live through it.

I've been here for about two weeks and haven't noticed any signs of Foggy's presence here. The people who have been here longer say it's been a few months since the first people got stuck on this train... if Foggy was going to change them she would have done it within a month.

No. This place isn't like that. It seems...more benign, honestly. Annoying, but benign.

We had all kinds of names for her. That's just one of the nicer ones.

No reason to be nice to someone you don't want to be nice too.

It wasn't really to be nice to her. It was just a common way to refer to her. She was the Fog God.

That sounds so lame.

Leviathan is a way better god.

It was succinct at least. I don't recall if she had another, truer name, if we discovered it. A lot of things were lost--

I hope I never meet it. [He does not have a good track record with gods. ~~Past reincarnation included.~~]

I think meeting anything that thinks its a god is a bad idea.

It ends poorly every time.
