Morning: Day 17 - Audio from the Kitchen
Let's play a game, because I'm bored.
[ This voice comes with music playing in the background. Nothing too exciting. Just some MISSIO. And there might be a faint tapping sound, rhythmic and following the beat of the song. Gwen has a couple of the pans from the kitchen upside down, for anyone in the kitchen with her, and she's drumming along. ]
The game we're going to play is called Two Truths and a Lie. And the rules are just that.
Tell two truths, one lie. People have to guess which is which and you tell them if they're right or not.
I'll start.
1: Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby is my favorite kind of ice cream.
2: I love my brothers.
3: I don't like cats.
[ More drumming, and a bit of singing along as she plays. ]
Alright! Let's do this thing.
[ ooc: reply to anyone. threadjacking is the point of this thread. come play! ]

Re: Audio
Oh, I dunno, one?
Audio
I'm afraid I'm not very good at this game. I kept thinking of things that were true.
[It had taken her a long time to make that short list.]
Re: Audio
Reality is so much weirder than fiction, you know?
[That, and... wizards shouldn't lie lightly and all. :'D]
Audio
I also wanted everything to sound positive but I couldn't think of something that I didn't want to do.
Re: Audio
Though - what about something you're glad you didn't do?
[Assuming Naminé wants to talk about it.]
Audio
There was no time for me to ask.
Re: Audio
Hurt them? How?
[Nita pauses.]
I know it's not my place to ask, though; you don't have to answer if you don't want to, especially on the public Network like this.
Audio
Maybe we can talk in person?
Preferences on who's in the Cabin at the moment? [Audio]
[Is it also sad that sad stories aren't new to Nita?]
What cabin are you in?
Whoever! [Audio]
Maybe we can walk in the garden and talk.
[It's hard to be completely alone on the train.]
[Audio]
[She's not in her room right now, obviously.]
But meeting in the garden works too.
[And, because she should probably give this girl something to go off of once they see each other:]
My name's Nita.
[Audio]
[She really should...]
[Audio]->[Action]
I promise I'll be right down, then; I've only just joined this train, after all...
[So she'll head to the Sleeper Cabin first. She'll knock, too.]
[Action]
[Naminé is sitting on one of the bottom bunks with a sketchbook balanced gently on her lap. It'd been a gift and she's trying to take very good care of it.]
Hello. I'm Naminé.
Re: [Action]
Turning back toward the other girl:]
Hello, Naminé! I'm Nita, like I said.
[She laughs a little at her own repetition, then extends a hand to shake.]
You like to draw, huh?
[Action]
[She knows that she'd already introduced herself but she likes to do it in person.]
I drew bits and pieces of my story. Drawing helps me think.
Re: [Action]
Sounds interesting. And useful, to have something to remember things by for later.
[She does it herself a lot, after all, though Nita knows she's no artist.]
Anything around here you think you'd like to draw, too?
[Action]
This is a story about a boy who traveled through a castle, forgetting himself while under the influence of a lonely witch. [Her voice is very soft as she nods at the sketchbook.] I've only done a few pages but please look.
[The next picture is of a blond haired girl sitting alone in a white room with a sketchbook in her hand. The next is a picture of a brown haired boy and his friends standing in front of a figure in black. Then another of a battle but it isn't complete yet.]
This is my story. Of how I hurt those I wanted to be friends with.
Re: [Action]
[The words are spoken softly, gently.
But she looks, studying the pictures in all their detail.]
These are good; you can see something about each person in the way you draw them.
[Action]
[She pauses and when it looks like Nita's through the relevant pages, she takes the sketchbook back, placing it protectively on her lap.] This is how I hurt... I am the witch. I called Sora to the castle and... I was scared of being alone.
Re: [Action]
Who wouldn't be? No one would want to be alone, in a place they don't know!
[Still, Naminé's worry is valid.]
But- what happened next?
[Action]
I was born without memories and I was trapped. I lured Sora to the castle and slowly began to replace his memories. I took away one of his most treasured friends and put myself in their place...
[Admitting it aloud hurts and for a few seconds, the guilt threatens to suffocate her.]
Re: [Action]
What happened next?
[Action]
Even after he found out everything I was doing, he still fought to protect me.
[Her voice softens to a whisper and she struggles to fight back her tears. Even now, it hurts and she wonders, is she worth all this? Should she even exist?]
Then... in order to repair the damage I had done and return his memories, he forgot me and the castle.
Re: [Action]
[Aaand there's the kicker. All along, this girl had simply been used. How terrible!]
If you were being used to design a trap for him - then it wasn't all your fault, was it?
[Having him forget her may have sounded like karma on paper, but that still left Naminé bereft of the one chance at friendship she'd thought she'd ever get... and that just sounds wrong to Nita.
She snuggles closer, unwittingly, because Naminé does deserve comfort.]
[Action]
[Action] ;a; HUGS...
