[ Hello everyone, have the slightly breathless voice of Peter Parker. He's also talking much faster than usual. Wonder why. ]

that survey thing asked people if they could swim. I can swim and like if you can't I'll teach you.

or I'll try to teach you.

anyone else wanna volunteer their services as a swim coach? You know, if we like get a swimming pool or something?

Wouldn't that be awesome? I mean, it couldn't be too deep-probably another double floor car-you have the pool up top and like a landing type thing? How would that work? Can they make the train wider? I mean it's not like we're on tracks. Or are we? Are their train tracks in the void?

Can't be, right? Like who even put them there?

[ he shuts the feed off. ]

[Before the boys could get started with that, Tony comes in and gives Peter a hug.

[ Peter's just pulling the controllers and head sets out to settle in for what is probably going to be a lot of high pitched screaming but then Mr Stark comes in, heading immediately for them. ]

Hey Mr Stark! ...Oh god, am I in trouble again? Okay look, Technically Renee had already order the Red Bull before-wait what- [ He stops mid-ramble as he's pulled into a hug. Okay. He's okay with this and hugs him back. ]

[runs_on_batteries]

I don't care.

[His hold tightened just a little before he pressed the quickest 'don't notice I did this, okay?' kiss to the top of his head and let go.]

You're a good kid.

[He gave Kaito's shoulder a quick affectionate squeeze too.]

[ Hope that Tony wasn't busy with anything important because Peter's just going to settle in beside him and curl right up, leaning his head on his shoulder. ]

[Peter would find Tony alone in his lab, reading a very large, old book that was expertly bound by hand and obviously not something that had been out for the train library. Looking up when Peter came in, he gave the kid a smile but it faded when all he did was curl up next to him.]

Are you okay?

[ This wold normally be that part where Peter would start stammering and assure his mentor that he's fine and come up with some ridiculous reason for why he came in unannounced and just curled up. ]

[ Except his mind is in a bad place right now because he was just reminded that human trafficking was a thing as well as child trafficking and conditioning and it just sent him spiraling. So, instead of saying anything he just shakes his head once. ]

[Wow.. this wasn't good, whatever it was.]

[He closed the book to give Peter all his attention.]

Who needs a black eye? I can bring up the roster if you just want to point.

[This was a lame attempt at a joke, not really an offer. However that could change if Peter actually gave him a name.]

[ He just shakes his head again. No one needs a black eye and it wasn't as if the girl meant to upset him and really he should just be glad she's out and away from all that. ]

[ He just curls tighter and takes a deep breath to calm his mood though he wasn't actively having a panic attack. He'd already done that, now was the low feeling and the downward spiral. ]

Can-can we just get some hot chocolate?

[Something really bad happened here. Something triggered the kid, that was clear. That was the only time he acted like this.]

Of course kid. Why don't you just rest here for a few minutes and I'll come back with some, okay? Or do you want to not be in this room. That would be okay too.

Um.. actually, can I just come with you?

[ It's a little silly, he thinks to be so dependent on Mr Stark-he should just go find Aunt May-she's used to this-but if he wanted to be alone he would have hidden away-no, he doesn't want that right now. Not for a second. What he wants is a distraction. ]

And then just-uh-play a game or something-or go over some of the physics problems in my book?

I'd like that.

[He liked Peter being close. They didn't always get to have lunch together with as busy as their schedules were (or Tony's at least). It never felt right when a day went by and he hadn't talked to the boy.

For now though, he'd do whatever Peter wanted and hopefully eventually a name would drop.

And then he'd run the bastard through with a goblin sword.]

Yeah, that sounds good.

[ Chess is a strategy game and Peter is actually quite competitive so it'll act as a nice, long distraction from his darker thoughts. He's not sure he can actually beat Tony Stark in a game of strategy but maybe he can at least give the man a good run for his money. ]
