rabbit 2, evening [video]
[ Seto is in the library, downstairs with the colorful posters and the cutesy model train carrying books in the background. He's holding his notebook, squinting at it briefly before he speaks. ]
...good evening. It's been a while since I've made noise publicly, so. I'm Seto Kaiba from Orange, if we haven't met. I'm usually working on game design in the games car or tech in the lab. I'll work with you on those things, but that's not what I'm here about.
So I recently bought some books for our library that I've spent the last day reading, and I wanted to point out their contents---in this case, it's all theories on the spiritual side of void travel. That's not my area, so someone more attuned with that would probably be better at interpreting the text than I am. But here's what I could glean:
The first book was about a history of void worship in void-active worlds. The people who get prophetic dreams developed whole religions around them. The second was about our void-selves being souls, and asked a bunch of questions about the implications of that, but no answers. Annoying.
But it was the last book that interested me the most. It was from a group of void travelers who work with the Ministry, but disagree with their philosophy. I was reminded of Captain Halo, for those of you who remember her. For those who don't, she was the captain of a crashed voidcraft a few of us met on a mission planet a while ago. She died when her craft did, because she was tethered to it, but she had a clear mission: to save the 'weird' beauty of the void.
Anyway, the travelers crafted their stories into a really wordy narrative that took me a while to digest. They claim void travel is possible even at the basic level because souls call out to each other. People who didn't set out to become heroes ended up being pulled to worlds in crisis. And there's a brief aside on lost souls, with a clear belief that they can always find their way to where they belong. As much as I'd love to be skeptical...I hope they're right.
That's what I have. They're in the library now if you want to read them yourself, but I know it's a lot to take in if you're newer. There's still so much we don't know, but we're working on it. And I can take a crack at answering questions if you have any.

Action, as agreed

Seto doubted that, but...hey, might be worth it. Just in case a copy gets lost. He hands the books over.
"All right. But you're duplicating the more vital history records too, right?"

It's...well, it'll probably have to involve hammerspace. How he wishes he had access to that.

"The same place that I keep the Angelic Layer devices."

"But if the train rhythm doesn't get any more off-track, I should have time to work on it now."

Forgive him, his head's been full of so much mess.

"Hm. Think you can enrich yourself off these payments?" It's said as a joke. Just a possible scheme.

He's content with this at last. "When you're done with that, are you ready to see a demo?"

Audio
Oh! But more important than any books!] Seto! Do you have a sound library available? [Sorry, this is far more important than souls or tethering or any of that, Idia's speech speeding up as he switched topic, that excitement for his project clear in his tone.] I want to try and recreate an old retro game here. I can make the hardware and program it, even do the art assets, but I would need a sound library to try and match up the best I could to the original game. [Because of course it has to be exactly the same! That's the point after all! Such a project needs perfection.]

[ But he listens to the pivot with interest. ]
Yes. I keep a sound library on my laptop for building new game objects on the fly. Do you want to transfer it now?

Wonderful! I was just going to make a game that would work with the current systems we have, but Emporio inspired me to even make the correct console controllers as well rather than just mapping them to our current ones! I can't wait to get started. [Those improvements they had made to the 3D printer would also help for Idia to work through this.] And a skin to put over the consoles, to make it really feel the part during play. [Of course.] I'll come grab it off you, and I guess that book at the same time.

[ He might want to poke at it...maybe. It's been a while since he's played something new. ]
Light chapter 6 spoilers
It's a zero to hero plot of a prince who had to hide his identity within enemy forces before learning the truth of his birth parents and starting out on a journey to find them and bring peace to Gaia and defeat the armies of Kronos! [All of that said in one, long, rapid fire breath. It's so good!]

I see the appeal. And I have a sound effect library in mind, if you'd like to come download it.

But back on topic.] Are you busy now, or can I get a copy of them to start going through? Oh, and that book. [He may as well grab that too, see if it's worth his time at all.]

The third especially, the idea that we are pulled towards worlds that need help... It really is a different way of looking at things rather than seeing the void much like an ocean...
It was good thinking of you to buy them.
i'm so sorry i never got this notif
I just hope it'll help us find answers.
no worries, I'm just slow

[ As he learned from the communication effort...]
And maybe this will be part of the answer to its problems.

How are you feeling after all of that?
video
[ Somehow, Thanatos has been finding himself among philosophical topics lately. ]

I was hoping the souls book would tell me more about what happens to people who've died as voidselves, or no longer have a body to go back to...but it's not my area of expertise.
video
How did you discover these books? What did you ask for?

video
[ Although, isn't that still the train anyways? ]
May have to try that.

video
[ It's half a question, half a statement. Thanatos finds himself empathizing with the train a lot. His own growth as a person fell in line with the train answering the passengers more than before. ]

[ Mort squeaks his support too! ]
