Alright, so I came in right before a world called Erda. Number... Hold on. [He has to pick up a leatherbound journal to look at, pulling a scrunched-up face as he references something. Just on the off chance there's some mission info stored somewhere that people can look up.] It's number 86525656412355. [And then with a slight head jostle at the strength of void bureaucracy, Yondu continues.] Anyway, Erda was a world fulla demons. This only matters 'cause I need to ask some questions about void dreams what came before I showed.

I know some happened but I ain't ever heard specifics. System number two, Tree Root Cloud, calls the void 'the space between dreams'. [He spreads his hands.] Fancy name. But we all have these dreams. Of darkness, of fallin' into nothin', of screams, of people talkin'. Now the people in our home worlds were havin' them dreams before we lit out and came back, and some of 'em were talkin' about the future.

The obvious thought is 'uh oh, Void juice's about to cause some shit'. But another thought is about how some of them dreams were of the future, and maybe that's happenin' to us, too. The sagely types on board? They have visions of the future on the regular. Practically before every stop. But what if us regular folks are to a small degree. Maybe we need to look out for things comin' as much as things passed.

Anyway if you remember anything that could do with past or future, you should say it. Kaiba and Raven said they'd pitch in so you can chat them up too. ['Cause hell knows when people will disappear and he wants help to keep track. They've been here a little longer than him, but Raven blocks most of her dreams and Seto didn't remember anything special.]

I didn't sleep well the last few nights. More of those dreams cropped up---facing myself, screaming.

I was told before that void navigation runs on emotion, and we had to put that into practice with anchoring. Most of these concepts aren't anywhere near my wheelhouse, but I'll try to solve the case with you all.

I don't know all that much about dreams either. Best I've figured so far is our tetherin' works somewhere between astral projection with a physical body and saving ourselves to some kinda... I dunno, 'cloud drive'. So we can last even after we don't got no physical body.

That said, I'm mostly wonderin' if some of what we been seein' is stuff meant to happen, not just past incidents. So we should be on the lookout for familiar voices and faces.

It makes about as much sense as anything else.

But even the people we know were receiving visions of the future receive vague ones at best. I don't know if we'll find anything useful.

Maybe. But I also need to ask some of 'em if their visions ever changed the outcome or if it ended up stayin' real close. I don't know who all is left that is psychic. I know Selenay has them dreams.

Just kinda worried if the Void's affectin' our worlds, and then we're dreamin' about fallin' forever.

The void started affecting worlds before you all came back, didn't it? I'm guessing the effects didn't leave when we did?

I dunno if it stopped. They was still goin' on when we left. I actually stepped outa my world even before the train put a call out because of it.

[He's paranoid, sure, but he's also pretty sure something went very wrong with whatever the train did.]

She didn't wake none of us up.

I don't like the sound of that. At all.

You just...you mean you were in space? Or the void?

Back onto the platform we was wonderin' from. We only had about a five-mile range. Leave it, ya end up on the platform. I'm lucky I ended up on a populated world when I was sent 'cause where I was before I came here was out in space with nothin' on between me and the cosmos but my regular clothes so I wouldn'ta lasted long if I returned to my point of origin. She got that right.

[He doesn't exactly look happy, but he at least manages to paper that over with a well-worn and oft-used poker face.]

So is 'having weird dreams that aren't mine' a normal occurrence around here?

Pretty much every time there's some void related disturbance they're practically a definite. Otherwise they're a pretty common thing.

I ordered a couple of books on the whole 'space between dreams' thing. Hopin' it turns up some more definite answers.

[K's admittedly chiming in pretty late, but he'd mostly been checking the posts out of sheer boredom. But dreams catch his professional interest. And the- mohawk? is pretty neat, too. Old guy's at least got better fashion sense than most people he's seen around.]

Hey. Did y'ever find out anything else about that whole void and the future, space-between-dreams thing? I'm pretty new. But you could say I've got a particular interest in dream shit.

[Figures he should know if there's a risk of his dreams going weirder than normal. Or what he might bring back with him if something went sideways.]

[Honestly, he knows ass all about dreams. All his knowledge was technology and business. But there's some middle ground involvin' how the void works that he hasn't gotten yet.]

I ain't yet. I ordered a book, I should get it in the next platform. I'll stick it in the library to make sure you can have a look see at it. I got some notes what I scrounged up since I first showed up here. If you're interested I could hand ya off a copy*.

I sorta described our whole situation not so much that we're clones separated from our bodies, but were some kinda solid astral projection [he'd once had a magician on his heist team, one that practiced Eldritch light magic, so at least he gets the concept]. I think normally it's like we're dreamin' an' those dreams are fully like what bodies got left behind. The thing holdin' me up is some of use ain't got no body left.

*OOC: It's just a list of links and quotes the part of those posts that mention dream stuff. And it's only the stuff that's happened since he's been around.

Well fuck. But yeah, that'd be cool. I wouldn't mind seeing what your book has to say when you get it.

[He saves the information Yondu sends to look over later, and to get Ronan's opinion on. There's something melancholy there for a moment, but then it's overtaken by curiosity. This is dangerously close to being specifically Kavinsky's wheelhouse. Up until now he hasn't really known what to do with himself without his pack.]

Well- [There's a slight pause, almost like he doesn't really want to say anything, but can't help himself. His Jersey accent briefly gets even more pronounced, a brief flare of something raw under his skin.]

So I don't exactly know how this works in the Void yet, but the question I'd ask wouldn't be about someone's body. It would be who remembers you and that sort of shit. Not just your name, but the things that make it so you can't be anyone else. The stories that you tell around bonfires and the ones you don't. Those quirks people mocked you for long after that shit stopped being funny, what you felt, who you cared for even when they fucked up.

I mean, bodies are basically just dirt. They're not really where dreaming come from.

[Clearly the subject is somehow personal to him, and he's not really talking about Yondu here. But he tries to shrug it off, because callous indifference is easy, and Kavinsky is not a boy comfortable with being seen to give a shit.]

Or whatever. Point is, I'm not sure it messes with your theory.

I don't even know how much of this is a theory I can do all that much about.

[He's got a lot of hypotheticals. Hopefully if someone knows more about dreams, the void book will be a help to them when it shows up.]

Important part is before a lotta these missions, the sagely types tend towards prophetic dreams. But it's usually just the sagely types an' it's right before a mission. [Though, little does he know, this will be a rare instance in which they don't have on during this next mission.]

If somethin' bad is comin' for us an' we're dreamin' about it? We need to know.

[He's not really poetic on his perception of dreams. They're just shit his wire-addled brain does to occupy itself when it organizes files. But if there's someone else that can see more in it, that's pretty specifically what they might be needin'.]
