Video: Quicksand: day 1

[ Peter doesn't usually do video feeds but he's doing one this time mostly because he's been gone for so long. ]

S-so hey? I guess I'm back. There's a lot I missed-like we finally have a lab and I'm super sorry I was gone so long.

also, how come we still don't have texting? Or did I just miss it?

[ He's still the same Peter, he's even lounging in one of those web hammocks that Tony often got on his case about for wasting web fluid. Peter looks up as he hears her approach and offers a her a smile, although it feels a little uncertain from his own guilt he's feeling over things not at all in his control. ]

[ he sounds a little breathless ]

I know I was gone for a really long time and I'm really sorry, like really, I'm kicking myself for it even though technically I had no control over it but I'm still really sorry I left like that.

[Wow it has been half a year and she'd almost forgotten how much he talked, how fast he talked and how many words he used when he really didn't need to.

She's missed him so much. She sighed.] It did no even be being your fault. Do no be apologising.

[ He kind of expected that she'd be mad at him. Is she not mad at him? It's not as though anyone else so far has been. Maybe that was part of his own guilt. ]

I know, but it feels like my fault because I'm the one that was gone. Um.. thanks for being understanding though.

[ Still the same Peter and still really good at finding ways to blame himself for everything. ]

[Once she would have been but she's grown up a lot, changed a lot and so she just sighs and scrambles up to sit next to him.]

You should no be blaming yourself. The train do just be being bad at keeping our tethers. It do be being a good thing you do be being back. You did be missing a lot.

Yeah, no kidding. From what I understand I've missed about six months worth of things and that's- I don't even know where I've been in all that time. Was I some kind of stasis or did I just go to bed one night and blip on the platform?

[ He sucks in a breath and tries to distract himself from that thought as it's particularly anxiety inducing. ]

S-so what did I miss? What's new with you?

No one do be knowing. I do no even be thinking the train do be knowing. [She sighed.]

What do you last be remembering. It did be being Erda right? The world with the demons?

That was the last mission but I remember going to that place where you throw stones in the river and some of Month Llama but that's about where it stops.

[ He's not sure if it's comforting or not that the train may not even know. He's leaning towards not. ]

So.. what have I missed? Did we learn anything new?

You did be missing a lot. [She sighed.] Mostly really stupid stuff.

In Llama we did be going to a place that did be being a city all on top of each other and if you did be being near the sky you did be having money and if you did be being on the ground you did no be being and the air did be being terrible and people did be needing to be buying oxygen just to be breathing. Some people did be being stuck inside a computer game and other people did be seeing stuff and there did be being unreal monsters and [She waved a hand.] People's minds did be being weird again. Just like in Erda.

...I missed Skyscrapers? Maaaaa, I've been dying to do some real web swinging and I completely miss it because I guess the train thought I had more pressing concerns?

[ He lets out an irritated sigh and then runs his hands through his curls. Right. Not the point. ]

Oh great. And I missed the perfect to time to put all my video game skills to practical use.

[ The train did this on purpose. It had to have. How mean. ]

Sounds like I got benched for a lot of stuff I would have been really good at actually. How is that fair?

Nothing do be being fair. [She told him with a sigh.] Anyways then we did be going into a maze and we did be seeing stuff. Good stuff and bad stuff. From our memories. It did be being stupid and a trick and there did be being a voice in the sky. The person who did be being behind it and Erda and that other weird world with no people.
