Um.. hi, everyone!

[ Madoka is smiling on the screen, though it's definitely a faint smile. A smile with something awkward around its edges, like the girl is trying really hard to smile, even though it's difficult. ]

I hope everyone has seen the art car already.. I turned my points into votes so we could get it as soon as possible, and it seems like it really worked. [ Thank god for the train actually following up on its promises. ] The carriage is really nice, so.. please make sure to check it out. Even if you don't think you like art, it can be a good way to.. um, to just.. release your feelings a little, I guess.

[ And that's something a lot of people could maybe use right now, she thinks. ]

And.. there's something else too. Maybe some other people got messages from the Ministry too, but I also got one, right around the end of the mission.. It said..

Madoka suddenly grows quiet. ]

.. It said my world is gone, just like I thought. I.. um. [ She bites her lip, obviously having more trouble speaking. ] I just thought I'd share that information. Because.. I think it's important to keep remembering that a lot could be happening back home while we're stuck here, s-so.. it'd be really nice if the people who want to go home could go home soon, and make sure their worlds are okay.

[ There's another pause, and then the girl sucks in a breath, shaking her head before quickly adding: ]

D-Don't worry about me, by the way! They said that they.. they'll try to see if my world can be restored somehow, s-so.. um, I'm sure it'll be okay! [ Look at her suddenly talking so much more quickly, like she wants to get saying this out of the way as soon as possible. ] A-Anyway, please enjoy the art carriage..!

[Space travel and living out in space is possible in his time, but it's also super limited. So it's pretty cool to hear that it's real some place. In some other "world" or universe, people really can do that.]

That's wicked... must've been scary as hell though.

... Mm, yeah I can relate. Like I miss my mum, but... guess I just hope in the end we'll all be able to decide if we can stay or go.

[Dennis feels bad that he's sort of swerved into sad world talk. Which can't make Madoka feel great. Apologetic looking he'll add-]

And it's not like Madoka doesn't get what he's doing here. So many people have been fussing over her and trying to be considerate that she recognizes it here too, despite not even knowing Dennis.

It makes her smile - even if it's a tiny smile, and tries to find a compromise. Something maybe a little safer to talk about. ]

I miss my mama too. [ It's said a little softly, but then she continues on a more normal volume, to indicate that she's okay with talking about this. ] What's your mom like..?

[He tries to be a bean that is good. Madoka seems like one too. He's more than happy to talk about his mom though, especially if she's okay with it all.]

She's... the only person who ever believed in me no matter what. Loved me even when I fucked up.

[But he guessed that was what parents were supposed to do, right?]

Could always tell when I was trying to hide stuff, like she got this special mum sense, yeah? Like she got a bullshit lie detector in her head.

[Swear to god sometimes he didn't know how she did it, but usually it was for the better that she'd call him out on his bullshit.]

[ Look, she recognizes that Dennis is trying to do good here, so she won't even call him out on the fact that he said a No-No Bad Word in there.

Madoka is getting kind of used to people casually cursing around here by now, anyway. It just seems to be a thing that certain people do. ]

They understand you without you having to tell them things. Like they know what you're thinking. I kind of miss that..

[ Not that the people on the train aren't nice. But it's a little bit harder to find someone who grasps you that instinctively. ]

[Bless, he did try to not use any no-no words, but he's got a little potty mouth. Sometimes they just slip out, alas. Madoka just needs to start a swear jar and people have to put in one point every time they swear.]

Yeah. Really miss that too.

[Man now he really wishes he could see his mom again, as much as he meant it when he said he'd rather stay on the train then go home, it didn't mean that there was one thing wish he could change about that. Then again, he'd never want his mom to be on the train and deal with everything here.]

Y'know what mums are best for? Hugs, dunno why but they're just made for hugging.

[Especially when you're crying. Not that Dennis knows anything about that, coughs.]

[ See that, Dennis? The girl's eyes are definitely growing wider with surprise while staring at him. ]

They are, but.. [ It's the 'but' that surprises her. Enough that - for once - Madoka skips over the mental question of whether something is polite or not, instead just letting the words slip out into a very, very direct question. ]
