In the interest of mine own ongoing entertainment, I have an offer to make to my new fellow Adventurers.
[Hey it's a new guy! And he holds up.. well it looks kind of like a smart cellphone if you squint really hard, but it definitely isn't.]
This is a hunt book, as designed and manufactured by ancient Allag. Upon being activated it tells me of any interesting creatures or beings that are about that may prove a diverting challenge to subdue, ranked by calculated difficulty and risk it poses to the local populations. While we are far from any guild which may reward any such hunts, should a mark appear I am willing to bring any interested in testing their mettle against it.
[Some people just really like hunting, ok? The device is put away.]
However there are ... restrictions. Should it offer up a mark that is exceptionally rare or vital to its ecosystem, alternates to slaying it are required; become creative with how you choose to subdue such a target without inflicting significant harm. If a slain mark is edible, it must be eaten, and as it seems this train has food storage room this should be a welcome addition to otherwise unappealing meals. I will not have waste for mere trophies and tales around a dinner table.
[Zenos makes a small gesture with one hand.]
I am to understand some of you have little battle beasts of your own. These are certainly welcome, but be mindful of your prey. Nature has little interest in rules and regulations. This is not a safe activity, and I expect those who wish to attend to be able to hold their own within reason.

I've my share of night hunts many times that include fighting pretty complicated things. I guest they'd be called ghosts, or zombies here. There's also demons and other various supernatural existences. I know better than to dive head first into danger without knowing what I'm capable of.
I can promise you I'll listen.

[A good reason to start small and work everyone up to a proper hunt train. He's patient.]
You yourself may be greatly skilled and experienced, but if everyone else in your squadron is not, and merely gets between you and your target in their unskilled enthusiasm.. mmm, difficulty and resentment arises.

In short, team work is essential to the operation along with being able to gain knowledge on the prey you're going for. Going in blind is only asking for you and the people participating to get hurt and possibly killed.
[ Jin Ling isn't too unfamiliar with what he's saying. It reminds him of night hunts definitely, and it's good to discuss the matter. He's not as hot headed as he used to be, but he knows he can be a bit much at times. ]
Tell me about it. That's not something uncommon. I've seen that too. Like I said, I grew up knowing battle all my life, maybe not as great as others but I can learn and grow. I want to be able to do something and not sit around and twiddle my thumbs!

[Of all but one of the people Zenos has spoken to so far, this is someone who very much does actually seem to be experienced on the battlefield, and eager to put those skills to use. But still rather young, the train seemed to favor youth over experience of decades..]
I look forward to seeing what you are capable of. With some luck your skillset will be complimentary to others, and I can forge a proper hunt train out of this disparate group..

Cultivation depends on the cultivators and which clans they come from. Each one has its own unique practice. At least, from what I know most cultivators from my world use swords or sabers. Martial arts is pretty common too. Cultivators can enhance these skills through cultivating.
[ Jin Ling doesn't get it either. It's something he's questioned the train for a long time. Maybe one day he can get a proper explanation on why the train and Hakagemachi brought him there. He is definitely eager to do something. It just happens that this piques his interest. ]
--I guess... Let me know your assessment when you get there, if you want to that is.
