[ Hello, train, Tidus on the screen, and the call is coming from (inside the house) inside the cinema car. Fortunately, when no one's watching any movies.

He gives a fake cough, hand up to his mouth to go with it. ]

Ahem. So! I don't have any muffins or a guy-cute face like Ryo's, but there is a cute guy I wanna talk about, and a vote.

That guy? Is my pal Romeo who's been here way too long. And the vote? Is about the popcorn machine in here.

[ He moves, pointing over to where the popcorn machine sits at the far end of the aisle. ]

Hard to see from down here, but the guy who bought that and buys the kernels? That was all him! And I know a lot of us've gotten fun out of it. So if you have, why not spare a vote to making them permanent? Either that or getting an art car. If you've seen Romeo around, I bet it's been him having fun with the paints!

[ And his mouth draws into a wider grin saying. ]

Thanks for your time! [ He gives a fun little salute. ] And see ya around!

[Another laugh and distinct footsteps sounding as Romeo skittered away from him.

He won't ever catch him! Romeo is the king of snowball fights. Unless it is against Zetta, then he eats snow.

Another snowball flew towards Tidus. Missing him. Romeo is not the best aim.]

[ Tidus is here for the fun of it. So what if he gets pelted with a few snowballs along the way? As long as Romeo's having fun.

But he won't make this too easy - that wouldn't be fun for Romeo! So he throws up a reflect spell, squeezing a fist as he calls on the spell, a green-ish white light surrounding him briefly. It won't smack the snowballs directly back at Romeo, but bounce them somewhere close.

And the first time that does happen (though Tidus is doing his best to watch out for Romeo, see where he's coming from!), Tidus calls out: ]

You're not the only one with tricks!

Whoa! [A bright laugh echoes through the gardens the first time a snowball reflects back towards him. That was so cool!

Tidus really had some great tricks! He was very powerful!]

You have lots of magic! That's why I had to use a trick!

[blitzcheer]

Use what you've got! You play to win!

Speaking of!

[ He's scooping up another snowball (hands cold, but whatever, that's the price for fun), merging a spell this time into the snowball itself. It takes him a second or so longer with the snow, but that's alright.

Tidus raises a hand, bringing the snowball back. ]

Time to get- [ he throws the snowball! ] rid of your spell!

[ If he can get a hit in with a dispel spell. But it won't be easy, and in truth, Romeo can just make himself invisible again.

...but Tidus wants to get one shot! Nevermind the more of a target he's making himself. ]

[Playing to win! They were both doing their best to beat the other. Though not violently. It wasn't rugby after all!

But he wasn't expecting Tidus to get rid of his spell!

The snowball hit him straight on and all of a sudden there was a Romeo there, visible, snow in hand.

Oh no!]

[blitzcheer]

[ There! There's a Romeo! ]

I'm coming!

[ He sprints-! Or tries to, but there's a lot of pebble-y ground under this snow, so he's going as quick as he can to reach Romeo! Will Romeo move before he gets him? Throw another snowball? Go invisible again!?

Because Tidus will do his best to grab the little guy and swing him up into the air! ]

[He turns to try and run but then he is grabbed, pulled up into the air and he laughs, trying to break free.]

Tidus! Bind!

[He puts all his detemination and all his strength into his words, to try and make Tidus stay still.

He can only hope it works, Tidus is a better magic user than him after all...]

[ Tidus might know a few more spells than Romeo, but that says nothing for his defence. When the spell is used on him, Tidus freezes mid-playful swing! ]

Aah?!

[ Oh no, he's trapped! ]

Hey! Cheat! [ The kind of accusation that's filled only with laughter. ] Cheat, cheat! You better not get free!

[ Can Romeo? Now's as good of a time to try! Now or never! ]

I'm not a cheat!

[This was a magic allowed snow battle! He is wriggling free but the accusation was enough to make his confidence drop just enough for Tidus to be able to moves his limbs again.

But Romeo is jumping down, to scramble off in the snow.]

[blitzcheer]

[ Tidus just laughs, and tries to see if he can shake off this spell. Is it shake-off-able? Is he going to be stuck as a living target for more Romeo snowballs?

Tidus might whine if it's the latter! (read: will) ]

[The spell shakes off easy enough, Romeo's concentration and confidence dropped for now.

But it was enough time for Romeo to have made not one but two snowballs! And they are coming right for him!]

[blitzcheer]

[ Noooo! Tidus gets smacked! But instead of retaliating, he's coming down to his knees, calling with a laugh: ]

Okay okay okay, you win! You've got me!

[ It's not being binded that's done him in, but the magic he did - especially quick dispel spells. He wipes off his arms, then sitting his hands on his knees until Romeo comes into view.

Then he shows his palms, a sign of defeat! ]

You're too good!

[He laughed, grinning wide. He had beaten mister Tidus! Even though Tidus had such strong magic!

He skipped closer.] You were really good though! You almost got me good!

[blitzcheer]

Hey, I got you! You just wiggled free! [ He says it while pointing at Romeo, but just for a moment, grinning after. ]

I gotta remember what arsenal you have up your sleeves. I didn't think that dispel spell was gonna work!

I did! [But if that bind hadn't worked he would have been trapped!]

That was really cool magic! Can it stop all spells?

No idea! Around here? I dunno - if someone's stronger than me, they can probably wave it off. It's only good if you can distract them before they use a spell again.

[ He waves out a hand like he usually does for magic. ]

You use it to take down shields or that spell I did earlier, where I reflected your snowballs! ... Actually, those should've been knocked back harder... shows what happens when you get rusty with magic!

[ Romeo doesn't get hit with his own snowballs! ]

That's how my spells work too! I got to be strong and to believe I can beat them! And know their name... So that's not so good with monsters. Because they never tell me their names.

[Smart probably. But it would be useful if he could bind them!]

If you're rusty though then you should practice more! That way you could hit me really hard with snowballs!

[blitzcheer]

[ Wow, got to know someone's name to use a spell? That's no good. Tidus wonders if there's a way to get around that... but, for now: ]

Well if I'm gonna practice, you should too! You think you could learn some new spells too? If your magic works on belief... then why can't you bounce away attacks too!

[ Isn't that the way it works? ]

Oh it's a bit more tricky than that! You got to have the belief and to think you can do the spell and be better than your opponent. But you also got to know the words for the spell and you also got to know the persons name.

[He sighed.] Normally their shinki name, 'cause they are shinki spells but we can use them against other people with their regular name but they aren't as strong. We can't use them against gods obviously. But I only know bind and umbra- that's the invisible one. And there aren't no other shinki here to teach me any others.

[blitzcheer]

[ Hmmm. He's got an arm over his legs, still crouching, pondering. ]

Don't think you can get a book with a bunch of spell names in them, do you?

[ ...he's only about a quarter serious, more helpless-sounding in the question. It's a peculiar system of magic, to be sure. ]

I don't think so... In the heavens you had to learn them from another shinki who knew them already...

But maybe there were books... They would have been too tricky for me back then.

[But his reading is much better now!]

[blitzcheer]

[ Well then! ] You read all the time!

[ Ah- ] And you know- you know that guy that sits on the rock in the library? He's a guy who knows his magic. If you need any help, I'll help - but I bet he wouldn't mind helping out too! He's trying to teach me better magic.

[ See? Helpful guy. ]

I do! That's 'cause I'm really good at reading now! [He grinned proudly.] Oh I saw him before but I never talked to him!

[He seemed quite strict, up on his rock and Romeo never wanted to bother him.]

Same! He always seem busy...reading, right? Like he's in a totally different place!

[ You get it, right Romeo??? There, but not there! ]

Yes! He's always reading but that's a good thing. It means he's really smart!

[Because books make you very smart indeed!]

I'm glad he's teaching you though, is he a good teacher? I bet he's a bit strict.
