[The feed starts out with very obvious shuffling around before finally steadying and focusing. Kabuto sure is looking like a right mess. He's still put on appearances enough to look mostly human, but he looks absolutely haggard, hair very much out of the ponytail and looking wild. His glasses are the only put together part about him. He's seems to have also not bothered with a shirt today, the background some might recognize as the examination room of the medical carriage.

Look, don't ask why he's picked there.

He rubs his hand against his face with a low sigh, right, put together.]

Do we have any idea how much longer this is going to continue on? And what is the point of thinking it practical to stay in the medical carriage to avoid having to go through the nonsense to get here if whatever entity is in charge or the train or whatever it is finds it prudent that I still wake in my assigned bed?

[Even his voice sounds... tired. Just exhausted.]

I suppose it... would make sense on a logical and practical level, but I can't help but feel... annoyed that I evidently can't be treated like a fully grown adult and make my own decisions about when I sleep and where I sleep.

Any... information into this nonsense is greatly appreciated.

Frankly, I agree. I suspect that the train knows that most beings require some amount of sleep, but it doesn't quite realize the inconvenience it causes.

It's quite a problem when I want to sleep somewhere in particular and it decides that that's obviously not good enough. There's beds here, I hardly see how it's any different other than being a complete nuisance.

Considering I doubt a manmade creation can be a sentient being properly, I assume that whatever is in control of this nonsense has learned via information learned previously. Which is a problem in and of itself, isn't it?

I've seen sentient personified fundamental universal concepts, I wouldn't put it past the train to be sentient.

But you're right in that it's being a complete nuisance. If I want to fall asleep in the garden I damn well should wake up in the garden.

Perhaps sentient is less the word I mean, I think I'm looking for... humanoid. Or able to express empathy. Learning of emotions and the wants and needs of humanoids while not being one is what I was thinking this train was. [Does it make sense? He's unsure, it's fine.]

I can't say I'd be terribly keen on waking on a bench or the ground, but I suppose that's your right. [Even if it sounds like a horrid idea, why are you like this.]

I've seen that happen, but... well. The Arcana are a whole other story. Suffice it to say that it's possible, just unlikely for something non-humanoid to learn and care about the desires and needs of humanoids.

But since we can't get a look inside the driver's compartment, it's a little hard to tell.

And naps are a fantastic use of your time if you have nothing pressing to do.

That's. Literally not the reason I have been trying to sleep in the medical carriage since this started. It's more a matter of convenience and not dealing with the changes that are going on around us between there and here.

I've slept through quite a lot worse than someone having nightmares, I can assure you. [Like screaming. And death. And torture. You know, the normal things.]

I suppose that... is a possibility. Though what would it have to hide? If we continue to assume it is a sentient being capable of emotion and therefore capable of deception, what would the goal for doing such a thing be? What could possibly be worth hiding?

...I mean, think about it. If all it wanted was to encourage us to sleep, wouldn't it be better to have us on staggered shifts, even slightly, or not make it mandatory? You probably don't want all of us on completely different schedules, but it would help with the crowding. And that way someone could sound the alarm if there was an attack.

I don't think the train's lying about what it wants from us, or anything like that. All the world-ending stuff feels real. But maybe there's something it thinks we'd freak out about if we knew, like how death revival works or...something.

I never said there was anything wrong with it, did I? Outside of these particular circumstances, that's typically where I go to sleep. But this is more practical at this particular junction.

Someone needs to be available if things go South, no? I've already seen the aftermath of a fight breaking out due to all of the nonsense and it's far easier to be here than to have to go through the potential of five other carriages or so before ending up here. And that seems to be on a good day.

If someone is checked in properly in medical, usually they stay in medical and don't get transported back. That said, you'd be taking up a potentially needed bed in medical if all you're going to do is sleep. I'm not a doctor or one of the medical staff here.

The other area it doesn't seem to kick you out back to your own bed is if you rent one of the luxury rooms.

I am one of the medical staff here, hence why the idea was to stay here in the first place. To not have to deal with the potential of it taking forever or being near impossible to get back here if it was needed.

I suppose I can still be considered new. Though, I do have to wonder, does and would anyone not medical want to willingly stay here? I cannot say I've ever seen anyone willing to stay in a medical area or bed for longer than absolutely necessary.
