[About an hour after everyone's unceremonious return, the video feed clicks on to show Ryo in the dining car, looking serious.]

Three things:

One: Is everyone okay?

Two: There's food in the dining car, and coffee and tea and hot chocolate. Come get something to eat if you need it.

Three: What happened?

Yeah, the train at least seems to care. Then again, I don’t exactly trust the people who were emotionally influencing me and accused me of being sick.

[The Ministry has done little to earn her trust, and she’ll continue on about it.]

Did I mention they were roughly seven feet tall? That just makes it worse when you add that in.

...so a bunch of seven foot tall masked people tested some of us and kidnapped and interrogated others.

[Masumi disappears from the screen, rushing towards Dining in hopes of getting something better to eat than what she’s had for the past few days in that holding cell.

Then again, nearly anything would be better than nutrislime, so there’s bound to be something better down there.]

[There's yadon tail stew, there's bone broth, and there's bread, along with the aforementioned drinks.] Ryo looks up as she arrives.]

What would you like?

[Masumi almost doesn’t care what, but in the end decides that she wants the stew.]

The yadon stew, please. Thanks for making sure there’s food here after the ‘mission’.

[She’s incredibly grateful for that.]

[He dishes up a bowl of the stew, adds a slice of bread, and offers it to Masumi.]

You're welcome. I don't remember who it was, but a while ago I was talking with someone, and we agreed that the people who don't go on missions should make food for the people who do. I wasn't able to go, so... [He shrugs.] The healer takes what they prescribe, I guess.

It's a good idea. [Masumi dunks the bread in the stew and takes a bite, happy to finally get real food in her.

But once she swallows her bite, it's back to what they were talking about before.]

...On the interviews, yes, a bunch of us were kidnapped from the mission by seven foot tall masked figures who asked us about the train and recent missions while using their powers to try and keep us calm. It sucked, especially since any abilities we had were disabled the moment we exited the train and those of us who got kidnapped had our weapons taken until the end of the mission.

[Masumi's one of the few people who still has a Jema'grethy bond, and that was cut off by whatever was blocking abilities. It was uncomfortable.]

[He's quiet, considering his words. He'd heard some pretty terrifying stuff from Yondu in the interim, and he doesn't exactly feel good about it.]

It probably sounds terrible, but...I'm glad I wasn't allowed to go on this one. I don't think I would've handled it well.

[He's had his powers cut off exactly once and it had led to a full breakdown. He's not looking for a repeat.]

But you got your weapons back and everything's working again, right?

Yeah, everything's back to normal now. And I can see how it would be uncomfortable, I've had this mental bond with Yugi for a while and it was weird to have it suddenly cut off for the mission.

[She'd gotten used to it being there, so to have the bond abruptly gone had been unsettling.]

I can't imagine how it would have been for people more reliant on their powers or who aren't used to not having them, so I don't blame you for being glad.

As someone who does rely on their powers, I can tell you it's not fun.
