Foremost, you must forgive me in any mistakes I may make in sending this address to you all, as I'm certainly not used to sharing my thoughts in such a way. I'm most definitely more of a fan of the classic handwritten letter.

I was going over the upstairs library collection, so generously donated by other passengers - and you're welcome add to it yourself), when I found myself wondering about the extensive possibilities of literary works to be found in the countless worlds we not only come from, but the ones we visit.

Since there's scarcely a chance to explore such things in the worlds we stop at, wrought with conflict as they tend to be, I figured the easier option would be to simply ask:

What are your favorite literary works from your world? What are they about? Which are considered timeless classics?

The Ghost Zone. Although the ghosts call it the Infinite Realms.

I believe we have different names for it, can't say I've heard those before.

It might just be a thing in my world. Its kind of like a mirror dimension to the human world, where all the ghosts live. My parents built a portal to it in our basement.

Oh, interesting.

[ A tad bit different than what he's seen himself. ]

They built...a portal? They might be quite powerful.

Uh, not really? They're scientists. And they spent twenty years working on the portal before it worked.

Oh.

Well, that's still a very impressive feat.

"Well, I guess? It is pretty cool."

But the circumstances of its opening kind of made it difficult for him to appreciate it.

How on Earth did they go about making a portal? Many people have tried to reach the other side of the veil, as it were, but seldom does anyone actually manage to do it.

I don't really know the science of it? But it was basically like- [His tone becomes a little reluctant here. That day wasn't something he liked to think about. Because all he remembered from the moment the portal opened was pain. It was the day he had half-died, after all.]

I think they used a ton of electricity to punch a hole through dimensions? At least that was how it felt? And then ectoplasm to stabilize it?

Oh, I see.

[ He doesn't understand it at all and still suspects there was magic involved somewhere, but he won't push it. ]

And you've all met actual spirits of the deceased?

I am a spirit of the deceased. Half-time.

But also, yes. Ghosts attack my town all the time.

I'm sorry - "half-time"?

"Sometimes I'm a ghost and sometimes I'm a living human. I can go back and forth, so I usually just call myself half-ghost."

Oh, that's...also very impressive, actually.

[ Bloody strange for a human, however. A living one? ]

That's actually a lot more positive than the reactions I usually get.

[ Suppose that makes sense, from other humans anyway. Aziraphale has...a slightly different perspective, both through what he is, and through the things he's done that can be considered out of the ordinary. ]

Does that mean you...are undead in some form?

....I try not to think too much about that part.

[Danny honestly wasn't sure what he was. Was he a ghost who never died? A human who gained the abilities of a ghost? It wasn't like there was anyone he could ask. He wasn't willing to pay the price for Vlad's help. ]

Still, can't be something common, I do suppose. Humans that can look through the Veil in life are not unheard of, if rare, but even more those who can claim to cross it and come back.

There was also Razzy. But that was bringing in the whole mess with clones. and he wasn't about to get into that until they decided what to tell other people.

[ To be fair, Aziraphale is aware that most humans who display such a close connection to other planes of existence do tend to be considered a bit, well, strange, by those who don't share the same beliefs. And, to be even more fair, a lot of them were lying anyway. But, here, he's inclined to believe him. ]

He has a thing for my Mom. Also he wants to kill my Dad and force me to become his perfect son/evil apprentice.

[Danny snorts.]

None of which is ever going to happen, of course. I keep telling him he should just get a cat.

Like I said, its never going to happen. No matter what he thinks.

[ Well. He seems to be dealing with it well enough. Might as well leave it. ]

You seem like a very bright young man. And with that kind of power...do you use it for anything?

[Danny pauses and eyes him a little suspiciously at that comment. That compliment... it sounded a little too much like some of the things Vlad would say when he was trying to manipulate people.

But also, he didn't want to live his life being suspicious of everything just because Vlad was a manipulative fruitloop. It was probably nothing.]

Well, at home I mostly use it to protect humans from the ghosts. And sometimes to protect ghosts from human ghost hunters.
