Never have I ever made a fool of myself [video, nebula 17]

What's up, party people?

[ And here's a cheerful wave from a man in orange, seated in his room with a mug of...something. ]

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

((ooc: it's a big mingle format! Go ahead and add new 'never have I ever' statements as new toplevels, and threadhop all you want.))

Mm, being around others and training in your cultivation. Every so often someone in a family of normal people can transform, but it's rare, and dangerous. We all affiliate with elements, one or several, and if you don't have good emotional control, things can happen.

( nice and vague, but Lan Wangji can likely guess what those "things" are, and what the danger is on both sides. )

No, Hanguang-jun, not in any cultivation sense. There are things that are harder, like dragon grooming? It's not the same as what I believe you're asking.

( he shakes his head, trying to focus instead on... )

... Hah, okay, then the point is really going for the most common things you think other people have done? But that you haven't.

( there's a long pause here as he tries to think up something. )

Never have I ever... taught an entire junior group of disciples?

( when he has no idea what Lan Wangji has done that he can possibly... WAIT IS HE SUPPOSED TO GET HIM DRUNK? FUCK, IS THIS RUDE )

I mean, never have I ever abducted people to ride around playing Night Hunt heroes with me while looking for the missing Night Hunt group I was with before?

[ Wangji nods, he doesn't have experience with exactly what Jingyi is describing but he can imagine quite well. Even regular cultivation energy can build up in teh right circumstances, with a nasty result. ]

I see, that is good you are able to stay well. I cannot help you with... 'dragon grooming' unless you explain it at least a little further.

[ He tries not to laugh at Jingyi trying to think of something. ]

Mn. We both know I have-

[ He sips his tea, even as Jingyi surges ahead and tries to edit his words. At the end of the word splurge he blinks several times. ]

I did not fully understand that sentence... Please elaborate?

... I was, uh, talking about what the train does.

( His tailtip disappears off screen and he scratches at the side of his cheek with his eyes lowered. Explaining dragon grooming goes straight out the window, metaphorically speakng. )

Jingyi, the aim of this game is to have fun. You do not need to continue if you are not having it. I can just drink my tea in your company.

[ Not everyone can hang out with their teacher, and Lan Wangji can respect that. Jingyi looks a little uncomfortable and he wants to reassure him. ]
