What's up, party people?

[ And here's a cheerful wave from a man in orange, seated in his room with a mug of...something. ]

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

Like I said, pretty complicated. I ended up like that thanks to a very strong cocktail of insecurities, testosterone, and an evil supercomputer. Let's say I'm reformed now.

[ She considers that for a moment, then nods. ] Okay. It's good that you're doing better, at least.

[ She may still keep an eye on him, just in case, but for the most part she'll take him at his word. It might not be the best idea, but she does believe that people can change.

Especially if an evil supercomputer was involved. ]

I guess so? Been getting better slowly, I think. It would be easier if I was still in the hospital, but this place kinda dumped me here instead.

[There isn't a lot of time for self-care when you're suddenly expected to be a hero, Rich finds. Especially when you aren't experienced enough to be a good hero.]

It pulled you out of the hospital? [ She knows that the train can really pick them up from anywhere at anytime, but really? ] Is there anything that we'd be able to do to help you?

Ah, nah, I'm all good. Someone gave me a healing potion when I got here, so I just look like I was dying.

[Or at least, he's physically good. He's not going to get into the details about his other health issues. He's already kind of stuck his foot in his mouth even mentioning his past. That's what he gets for trying to make jokes...]

[Rich just barely manages to bite his tongue on a snarky remark about her medical qualifications.]

I... appreciate the offer, but it's really okay. Plenty of people know my sob story already. So long as... I guess, as long as I'm not talking like a robot, you know I'm probably okay.
