Never have I ever made a fool of myself [video, nebula 17]

What's up, party people?

[ And here's a cheerful wave from a man in orange, seated in his room with a mug of...something. ]

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

((ooc: it's a big mingle format! Go ahead and add new 'never have I ever' statements as new toplevels, and threadhop all you want.))

Yes, I see. It would be hard to fight with the sword when you were standing on it and relying on it to keep you in the air.

[ Isn't war always a mess, no matter how you try to fight it? Curufin would say that the art of war is basically the ability to sort out these confusions and conundrums quickly enough not to get killed, to come up with sketchy solutions what will keep you and others alive, and maybe even win the battle. ]

( war is never nice, ordered, neat, clean, or anything of the kind. not once. only those who've never seen one can think otherwise is true. )

Yeah, though you can direct your sword while in dragon form, so technically I can fly and use my sword at the same time, with qi.

[ That's for sure! ]

So, if you're flying along in dragon form, you can direct your sword to strike someone or clash with someone else's sword, and it'll do as you command?

Yes! As long as I have the qi. If I was too worn down, then no, but that's like anyone I think. Lacking energy, how do you do much of anything at all?

Good point. We Elves have other terminology for our energies, but it sounds as though your qi is very similar to ours. I agree, if you run out of that energy, it deprives you of the ability to do much.

Mm! I've heard different words for it here, but I think it's a similar thing across worlds... spiritual energy? The energies of the world?

That's how I see it. Those energies are spiritual, and they are both personal and of the world. It's a continuum, and how much of those energies a person can access depends on how much they've focused on cultivating that which is within themselves and connecting with the world-energies.
