What's up, party people?

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

That's not a bad plan! And if the upstairs is just a little more low-key ... if our dear Rui hasn't had a party before, it would be a good place to escape for a second to give anyone a chance to breathe.

Yeah! And there was this other girl I've been getting to know. Nell? I was talking to her about a meet-and-greet - a way to get to know people when you've not been so social in life. That could be a fun part of it.

We'll have to arrange that kind of event carefully, my friend. Plenty of people who've otherwise not been social might try to avoid that kind of thing out of principle. It'll need a hook.

It's hard to anticipate everyone's interests - but you've surely noticed ...

If delicious food is involved, people come in droves. Even if they try to sneak away after grabbing their slice of cake or bowl of ramen.

...so we should put the food on the tables where we tell them to sit and chat?

They could easily sneak out if that's the case.

But something where they have to spend time eating it - maybe even build their own plate or dish - that would keep them there longer, increasing their chances of interacting with others socially.

Like a ice cream sundae bar!
