What's up, party people?

[ And here's a cheerful wave from a man in orange, seated in his room with a mug of...something. ]

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

((ooc: it's a big mingle format! Go ahead and add new 'never have I ever' statements as new toplevels, and threadhop all you want.))

( Ah, Lan Xichen... Zewu-jun... He smiles, in a tired sort of way. )

Zewu-jun, would you mind company?

( He can guess based on what he sees beyond him where he might be, but better to ask. More tea is never amiss, though he does suppose he could shove alcohol at him to burn off, but that's a waste and rather rude if Zewu-jun isn't asking. )

[ Xichen blinks, then lowers his head. ]

Of course I would not mind. [ He's in the garden car. As per usual. ] Please join me if you wish.

Mm, I will. What tea are you currently enjoying?

( mostly so he either brings more of the same, or something entirely different. he's mapped out his little course along the line of the train mentally already, and which transgates to use. )

Thank you, young master Wei. And it is a kind labeled as lemon balm tea. The scent blends nicely with some parts of the garden car.

Hm, thoughts on Oolong with Jasmine, if I don't find more of this lemon?

That does sound very lovely, too. Thank you.

[ Of course, jasmine might be slightly too strong a scent to mix with the lotuses, but in company, especially exuberant company, that is not that big of a problem. ]

( Give it some time, and then he finds Lan Xichen, Zewu-jun, carrying two mugs of tea on a tray with a plate over the top to keep the heat in. )

I need to remind myself to order a proper tea pot, unless you have one I can very charmingly borrow for the same purpose at various times, Zewu-jun.

( Thus, settling, he can unplate and offer... more lemon-ginger tea. )

Ah. Yes, perhaps a teapot or three might be convenient for more than one person.

[ ... it hasn't occurred to him that it wasn't only his difficulty, not having one, and if it was only his, then it would be selfish to address it, hmm. ]

Thank you, young master Wei. [ Xichen inclines his head... and motions the other man closer to the part where he is sitting. Even if there isn't a surprise the way Jiang Wanyin was surprised, Xichen thinks it will still be pleasing, to be close to the lotuses. ]

Thermos things might be a stand in, but they don't work as well for the tea... a proper strainer would be lovely, too.

he pauses, then smiles, inclining his head in turn and taking the offered sort of seating. he's enjoyed the lotuses in his time here, with their variety of colours in the pond. part of them will always smell like home, in the better and less pleasing ways.
