Never have I ever made a fool of myself [video, nebula 17]

What's up, party people?

[ And here's a cheerful wave from a man in orange, seated in his room with a mug of...something. ]

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

((ooc: it's a big mingle format! Go ahead and add new 'never have I ever' statements as new toplevels, and threadhop all you want.))

[ He's rather intrigued by the idea of basically having a vaccine that's a panacea to whatever this person encounters. It sounds like an amazing marvel, as much as it had a terrible cost. Much like the petrification, if you think about it ... ]

[ Eating brains?? Gen was lucky he had such an excellent poker face. He didn't even twitch. Eecccch. ]

[ Sounding amused; ]
Puts a whole new spin on the phrase 'food for thought', doesn't it?

Well, my friend - it sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Though it would be a lot more useful if you could spread such a bacteria through another means instead of an injection, I'd imagine.

That is far outside of my wheelhouse, so ... have you had the pleasure of meeting my husband?

[It's okay, he knows. The denial was real for a long time. But then he got hateful and he had the craving and he just did like a zombie do and figured some things out.]

Well, we can use injectors. And at a very basic level, I can spread my own immunity by biting or scratching. But the last bacterial infection that spread and caused the latest mutation was in the water cycle. I can work with that.

I did, early on.

But I didn't really feel up to telling anyone what I was at the time. People have reactions to that kind of thing.

Injectors or using - ha - built in injectors like your teeth can still be time-consuming if you're trying to save everyone. Getting it into the water sounds much more efficient, but I'm no scientist.

[ Smiles, tilts his head; ] Well, you certainly don't need to be afraid of what Senku-chan might think of you. He has an incredibly open mind - I think you'd only offend him if you believed in pseudo-science.

Of course, if you wanted to cause a rant, ask him about astrology. [ Winks. ]

I'll leave the neopagan bafoonery to the worlds that have functioning bafoonery physics, thanks.

[That's what one calls magic sometimes, he supposes.]

Well, I also had a reputation as being worth money and I'm a zombie so there were lots of reasons to hide at the time.

I need to keep 'neopagan bafoonery' in my back pocket. It's a snappy little phrase. I'll give you proper credit, of course.

[ Smirks ] Fortunate for you, that kind of money is largely useless on this train we've been kidnapped on, here.

My name is Gen Asagiri, by the by. It's a pleasure meeting a brain connoisseur zombie virologist like yourself.

Yeah, and there's even decent food! I mean, I need to go home but this is basically like a vacation so far. All the strangeness aside.

Nice to meet you, Gen, husband to a scientist. I'm Murphy. [His name is on the roster and whatever but introductions are always nice.]
