What's up, party people?

If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

I suppose it depends on how you mean it and what your opinions are, but my company is what I pour most of my time into.

Well like, working 'stead of partying. Get more done. Like you said you put yourself into your company and I bet it's better for it. Hope you take some time for yourself though, can't work all the time.

[Well that's depressing... but he gets it. Back home he'd been pretty miserable about most things, beyond like. His mom. Always felt like something was crumbling around him or he was walking on eggshells.]

M'sorry, that's not easy. I'd say I understand, but not far to assume I do.

I'm used to it, it's always been like this for me.

Which is partly why I enjoy my job so much, I suppose.

The train...actually...isn't that bad. I had a lot of problems at home.

Yeah... yeah I agree. Actually really like it here. Course the missions can get real intense and I'm not really wild about them, but we're helping people. When things are quiet on the train it's nice though, good people on here.

That's still not that different at home, even though I'm not a fan of being a superhero of sorts.

I think people can band together and do more good than one single person could do in their lifetimes.

Huh... didn't think of it like that, us being superheroes. Guess we are kinda like some superhero task force.

You ain't wrong about that. My job back home was about that too. It takes a team to put out fires, figurative or real.

It's what I got roped into at home too, but I know people are capable of looking after each other. That's...what I try to do. Encourage them to do that. It works really well, at least, most of the time.

I can't control some people trying to take advantage, aside from banning them.

Unfortunately they'll always be scumbags who'll try that. Good of you to try and do something about it.

Yes, well, somehow that's my fault now. My teammates have been heavily critical as of late.

[ She doesn't really have teammates the same way here, at least, not anyone she's that close to, or works with on missions. ]

I'm not exactly disappointed to be away from them.

That's exactly how I feel about it, even though I know I shouldn't. There's some things that are significantly better here.

[ It hasn't fixed everything, she's still depressed and a mess, but at least no one's harrassing her. ]

[All of that is super legit. Things being better doesn't immeadiately, or even long term, fix that sort of thing. Can help for sure.]

I mean besides the danger of the missions and it being real sketchy with how things operate here... dunno, I just feel like I wouldn't mind staying on the train over going back home.

Miss my mum of course, but... biggest thing here is people just up and go and we don't know why still. Just worry one day my friends here will be gone, but then that's better for them, yeah? Going home. Or- we really hope that's the case.
