If we haven't met yet, my name's Jake. Jake Peralta, your clues guy. I'm down to poke things with sticks and solve mysteries! Sooner we figure out what the train's entire deal is, where we're going and all that, the better, right? But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to get to know my new squad!

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be down to play a little Earth game called Never Have I Ever. How it works is you say something totally cool, or weird, or boring that you haven't done. And anybody who has done it has to take a drink. Unfortunately, I'm as broke here as I was back home, so I can't supply the booze. And we should probably be setting a good example, right?

So just drink whatever you have! Be that water, juice, milk, coffee...or if you happen to have a proper adult beverage on you, go ahead and drink responsibly. You ready? Great, I'll start: never have I ever gone skydiving!

I think the proof is more that school isn't everything and you can accomplish things outside of that if you need to.

I was only in school because my dad made me anyway. School was a huge waste of time to me.

I was out of school because I was homeless. And I didn't want to get caught and put in an orphanage.

I suppose that's as good a reason as any. For me, school ended when th world did, and now I'm far too old to go to school, even if we had one.

... Yeah the world ending would definitely do it... mine hasn't ended and hopefully we can keep it that way.

Ours is trying to take the form of monsters that eat part of peoples' brains.

Sounds unpleasant. We don't have monsters, just a lack of resources thanks to a lack of humanity.

You'd think that less people means there's more resources for everyone...

Sure, natural resources. Most people don't know what to do with that, however, we were raised in a modern world.

Oh. I guess that makes sense. Is there at least enough food? There must be a lot more animals around...

We do our best. There are animals, more than you would've seen in downtown Tokyo of course, but no farming so it's a trade off. We eat a lot of fish and eat a lot less frequently then we would've in the modern world.

Oh, true, there wouldn't be farming... I guess farming depends on a lot of modern equipment these days.

And I can get not eating as often as you normally would... just make sure you eat enough here. There's enough food for it if we're not overdoing it.

Not enough people, and not the best land for farming, at least initially. We do have some wheat crops now, but they're a good distance away from the village.

I eat about the same as I did at home, maybe a little more. I don't exactly want to get sick when I go back, so I'm fine with that.
