Alright. Alright. One of those opinion posts.

[For those that don't know Murphy, the man on the screen outright just looks likes Voltaire wet dream, complete with red skin, Satan aesthetic, black suit with a red shirt and he's got the voice of a story-telling podcaster.]

Moral Quandary Time! Where do you draw the line in killing people? Are you a 'no, never' person? A 'only in self-defense person'? A 'the world'd be better without this person' person? Maybe even a 'You killed my father, prepare to die!' type. Or, maybe? All it would take is something that'll line your pockets.

Maybe the setting counts. Somewhere like my world, where billions of undead roam hungry and the living trample each other to survive. Definitely one where even the softest heart would be hard-pressed to stay their hand. Or you go to one of those colorful, magical places where the grass looks like astroturf and there are rainbows with no clouds. But you found out all the cute, adorable fuzzy things there were slowly going to cause the extinction of five other species.

This isn't just a question about murder philosophy. Missions are tough and some just want to help and some of us are desensitized. You might need someone who can easily do what you'd struggle with. Then again, you might need someone with a little more patience so you don't snap someone's neck.

[Murphy withholds the question about whether someone would rather him get information one way or the other if it came down to a choice. He'll wait on that one 'cause he's sure the initial answer would be, 'I would rather you do neither.]

Also hello to the new people! Hiiii. Yeah. You might get mindfucked. There's a lot of that recently. I'm sure someone else with a healthy dose of PTSD can fill you in on how that went.

... I'm used to risky missions. Not always ones where you might kill someone, but ones where there's fighting, definitely. I'm on the red team for a reason.

I'd go on the riskier one so my family doesn't have to.

I don't necessarily like to fight and I'm on red team. But I think that has more to do with my personality type than my innermost desire to throw hands.

Yeah, that's fair. We do have a lot of really stubborn people on our team.

Not that it's a bad thing, in my opinion.

I'd only mind it if they actively did something to stop it.

[Just try and make him behave and see how irritable he gets. This man let nukes go off rather than stay put for a UV screening (he was very, very angry and scared at the time though). It's the worst kind of stubborn.]

At least they don't seem all that particular about the jobs.

No, they don't.

I'm used to violent and dirty jobs though, or at least being around them. My teammates at home ran drugs every once in a while.

We have to trade in drugs a lot in my world. There aren't any commercial producers anymore so if you need any chemical therapy you gotta handle that yourself. We had a great guy for that- he's still alive, our group's just not together anymore. But yeah, you'd be surprised what skills like those can do for you in the right world.

None of us are really suited to working in normal jobs, since in our world you need documentation... but being sneaky and evading the authorities is a set of skills that's useful in a lot of places, yeah.

Though with the world being ended, I don't know how many 'authorities' you have.

Now? Next to none. There are more up north in Newmerica but ehhhh... I live just outside of it now. Fuck that.

But being able to make and measure drugs in that world is pretty useful. Great advice from the ex-con. If you can pick a subject to dabble in? Make one of them chemistry.
