Heard we're supposed to be having another mission soon... seems a bit like every time we get beat down, we have a nice break, then have to get beat down even harder, huh?

[Rich is starting to get tired of this, honestly. He's trying not to let it show on his face, but the bags under his eyes probably still make it obvious. At least he seems to be back to his talkative self, though he has to admit... it's just because he can't take the silence anymore.]

Anyways, I've been thinkin' a lot about the stuff I miss back home. Video games and cheesy movies, and fast food courts in malls that seem like a great vibe until two hours later when you've barricaded yourself in a bathroom stall. All the stuff we don't have a lot of here. And I think there's one thing we're sorely missing, which is memes.

[He smirks a little.] I mean, I could do an acoustic riff on Astley if anyone wanted it, but I wonder if we have better than that.

Maybe we could use that laptop to make new ones? Yknow, all that bottom text goodness? Though I guess we couldn't really use them as reaction images on these terminals...

Anyways, I guess, what's the one thing you wish you had here, that the train just can't replace for you? So whatever you can't buy from the store. I'm in a nostalgic kinda mood.

[She knows she's head the word before, in her travels, so there's a slow nod. From what she remembers, it can't be too difficult or different than what she knows.]

Not that I can recall, but if they're anything like the ones in my world, they're not different to various stews?

If they are real where you come from, they must be quite rare then if you're unsure if they exist.

I'd say so! You serve a lot of them with rise, so maybe not as substantial as stew, and almost always spicy. Do you like spicy food?

[If she doesn't, he'll have to come up with something else that both of them can enjoy.]

Yeah, I'd guess that's the case. I'm not gonna deny they're real though. I mean, I wouldn't have believed in plenty of things for years until I suddenly had experience with 'em, so at this point, flat out denying them seems more dangerous...

[now he's speaking her language about spicy food. She loves it and wishes the train served more of it. Her face lights up even at the mention of spicy.]

Spicy is something I quite enjoy! One of my favourite dishes is from a land in the north that has a specialty in spices with all of their food. If it's served with rice, it may be similar to one of their dishes.

A wise choice, many things we don't know if they exist where we come from end up being real once we arrive here and our knowledge of things expand.

[He beams back at her, grateful that he's found their common ground now in regards to cooking.]

Hell yeah! That really does sound the same. I'd love to try some of those dishes, if you know how to make them? And if you don't mind trying to teach someone, I guess.

[He just nods at her comment. He's been trying not to ascribe his own experiences to what other worlds are like, as difficult as it can be. He knows there are some things he just can't relate to.]
