Right. I don't remember if I mentioned it, but I'm a chimera, part human and part... not. And I wasn't born this way -- I was transformed about six years ago.

Anyway, when I was first transformed, I didn't know my new limits either. Strength, speed, magical power -- which I did have as a human, just not much -- durability. It took me a while to figure it out, and I didn't get anything I had to actively think about. That I didn't know how to do before.
But to figure my limits out, I had to actually try to use what I had. Probably the same way you've been learning you have powers; by getting into things that you can't cope with human abilities alone. You don't have to like having powers to want to know how to use them properly if you're the sort of person who the world just can't seem to leave alone.
