[Allen had just finished training for the day. It wasn't like his usual workout as he was slowly working his way back to to that. He was still honestly tired after what happened even if he didn't do an awful lot beyond talking.

But to him talking can be just as exhausting and yet here he was with a smile on his face.]

Hello... So I don't normally talk on here much but I'm trying this new thing called... being open and it's been going well. Sort of.

[He has his moments.]

So I decided why don't we all try giving a fact or two about ourselves. They don't have to be super serious or anything. Just anything will do and we can talk.

I will go first with some facts:

One: Back home we had a situation where people became zombie like and so to deal with something... I hit on a male robot to get him to do it. It worked.
Two: I have a bone to pick with Cupid. They're an asshole and I don't like them.
Three: I've cheated pirates out of money. Like a lot of money.
And finally Four: I once stabbed myself with my own sword. I thought it wouldn't do anything... I was very very wrong.

[All rather odd facts about himself that he was comfortable with sharing. The smile till on his face.]

So whose going to be next if anyone.

Well, I had one of those too? I dreamed about one of my friends the night before I met her for real.

But it wasn't like that for Guilmon. I found out later that it was the Digignomes. Mr. Mizuno said that they wanted to communicate with me, but because they talk in a different way, they granted my wish for him to be real. So they took my drawing and made him.

[He pauses thoughtfully.] Though he also said something about how maybe Guilmon was the one who dreamed me. Or maybe he dreamed himself and I just became aware of him.

[blitzcheer]

[ ................ ]

That guy sounds like he thinks too hard. [ About pointless questions!! ] Is he a -- Digignomes?

[dreamtamer]

"I don't think so? But when we met him I think he had been staying with them for a while. It was really strange. It was like he was there, but not in the same way we were there. And he talked about dreaming a lot."

[blitzcheer]

"...well, half the stuff I hear this days barely makes any sense, so that sounds about right. A half-there guy and people having future dreams."

Sure, why not!

"So, how did you and Guilmon meet? I remember Ken saying there was some kinda device..."

For doing something or other?

[dreamtamer]

"My digivice?" Takato disappears from the screen for a moment, and then returns to show off a strange white device about the size of his hand. It has a square screen set in the center, surrounded by a gold ring marked with strange angular writing. "This is mine! Its a little different from Ken's."

He pauses thoughtfully. "My card reader turned into this the day before I met Guilmon. But it was already connected to him. So when his egg emerged into the real world and it hatched, it told me where to go to find him. And we've been together ever since."

Tidus peers a little closer into the screen out of bad habit, though moves back when, surprise, it doesn't help him see any clearer than he's going to get. A curious expression sticking on his face, even as Takato finishes explaining.

"Huh... so... are digivices card readers 'til they turn into that?" A nod to the screen. "And then they turn into a...handy dandy digimon-finding device."

[dreamtamer]

"Sometimes! All of my friends got theirs in different ways. For me it was when I found a blue card in my deck. We found out later that the blue cards were a a special algorithm that were meant to bring kids and digimon together."

[blitzcheer]

"Pretty weird, but... I guess that's what they call destiny? You guys get a card that gets you a digidevice, and then you meet a digimon!"

That's. Something.

"But not everyone in your world, or-- well, humans, right? You're all humans? --Not every human gets a digimon."

Has he got that right?

[dreamtamer]

"Well, most times its the other way around." A short laugh. "Guilmon and me... we met in a different way than the others. Most of the time the digivice shows up when you meet a digimon and you just know that you're partners."

That moment of knowing was really difficult to explain.

He shakes his head. "Only a few of us. Up until the Devas attacked and destroyed most of the city, most people didn't even believe they were real. I didn't know they were real until I met Guilmon."

[blitzcheer]

"Eesh, tough way to meet a new crowd." A city attack, that is. Why's it always gotta be so large scale. "Ken did say something like that though... that not a lot of people know about digimon. I guess because your worlds are...split? But then they can move around digitally..."

If he's remembering any of that right.

[dreamtamer]

"Up until then most people didn't realize anything was going on. But Vikaralamon... He was a pig the size a mountain! He started earthquakes just by walking around the city." Takato glances down, remembering. "Most of Shinjuku had to evacuate."

He stops to think about what Ken would have meant by that.

"In my world, the Digital World grew out of the network. Until the digimon came to the real world, I think only a few people in my world even knew it existed. It isn't easy to get there, and its even harder to get back. I think, in Ken's world it is easier to travel between them."

[blitzcheer]

"Makes sense, I guess..." Even if Tidus needs to think - and say it - slowly. "That's what teleporters are, right? The same kind of tech. So you using the same tech as the Digital World..."

...

"Uh... did someone 'make' the Digital World?"

[dreamtamer]

Takato looks confused.

"What teleporter? I don't know of any tech like that in the Digital World? Unless you mean the data streams?"

He shakes his head.

"The Digital World grew by itself. No one even knew it was there until the Digimon started coming to the Real World.."

[blitzcheer]

"Oh," right, he kind of got vague there, didn't he. "I mean that if data streams are like teleporters, then - if the Digital World's a digital world - then it makes sense the moment you guys get digital technology, they can make a link between the two worlds, right?"

He brings two fingers together, indicating two technologies coming together.

"But wow, I never knew digital worlds could exist... that's kinda cool. I wonder if they can just multiple...?"

In the digital code...universe?

[dreamtamer]

"Well, maybe? The data streams can teleport people, but there's no way to predict where they take you. If you get hit by one you could end up anywhere in the Digital World." Takato laughs. "Even Hypnos couldn't do something like that. When we needed to get home they sent us a Digital Ark to carry us back to the Real World."

"They're really amazing, right? I don't know if they can multiply, but all kinds of strange things can happen there. Like we figured out that we could breathe water there if we just told ourselves that we could."

[blitzcheer]

"The Digital Ark a digital...vessel?" He laughs, a scoff- "A ship? 'Cause this is starting to sound like someone taking a boat between two places."

Two worlds, and one of them's digital. How does that even work? But why not, right? After that space-station place they were in and had to 'jump' into their computers...!

"Was it the same like that all over there? Sounds like some real-life hacking going on!"

[dreamtamer]

"Well, maybe it was a little like a ship. A digital ship that could go between worlds. The Ark was really nice too. I nearly got left behind, but when Guilmon asked it to stop it listened! And later it became a good friend." Takato's smile here is a little sad. He knew that a part of Grani was still with him, but he still missed him.

"Mmm, everything in the Digital World is made of data. When I was there, I was data too. And my friend Jenrya figured out that we could change just a little bit of what was real there for us by believing it. Like we didn't need to eat if we didn't think about eating."

Which may help to explain why Takato had struggled so much with the illusion training.

[blitzcheer]

...a boat became a friend?

Well. Okay. That happens! Madoka's friends with a floating keyring, so why not an entire boat.

But, speaking of not eating if you think about it.

"If you did that, couldn't you just make food appear?"

Because if it's a choice between not eating orrrr getting to eat!

[dreamtamer]

When the boat is half-digimon? It happens.

"We never thought about that. But I think... from the way Jenrya talked about it I think it was more like, we could change how the world affected us, a little? But we couldn't change the world itself."

[blitzcheer]

"Well that sucks." Boo. Booo. This is the most disappointing news of a digital-weird-world he's heard yet. (Okay, maybe the city getting destroyed was bad, but!)

"Not even giving yourself food-making powers?" Oh. "Could you do that? Did you ever try? You've gotta be able to- I dunno, breathe fire if you can change yourself! Right?"

[dreamtamer]

"Guilmon can already do that?" Takato was a little confused at the idea. Why would he want to change himself to do something that his friend could do?

[blitzcheer]

"But that's Guilmon, right? ...You've never wondered what it's like?"

...He's never thought about it before now, but Tidus would absolutely breathe fire if given the chance.

[dreamtamer]

"I think being part of Dukemon is enough for me."
