Everything was a mess and all of us there had strange illusion things to deal with before things went really bad, but I have a question. About my friend.

( A pause. He does, in fact, literally mean this about a friend. )

Say he was in a situation where... certain boundaries were willingly crossed, but what it meant in the illusion was different from what it means outside of the illusion. And explaining what that means and how it's different is kind of important to the one they were crossed with.

( For both sides, but he's more worried about his friend than he is the other guy, for various biased reasons he has no regrets over. )

How do you handle when people here do casual things with 'dating,' but I'm from—he's from—a place where you definitely don't?

It basically means sometimes the only way to move forward is to talk about it. Otherwise it lingers over ones head and doesn't help.

Right, right. That's my take on things. Not everyone agrees, but whatever, they've got to live their life, not me.

You are correct not everyone agrees and are free to live their life in thier own way or handle a situation in a way they feel is better.

You just have to find the one that you feel is best for you.

Sometimes that involves getting someone else to give someone a shove so that "feels best" isn't also "sacrificing more because you're that kind of person."

WHat I meant was finding the best option for you to solve the situation at hand. SO feels best as in feels best for you, so it wouldn't really be sacrificing anything.

It's always good to hear things from different perspectives anyway.

We're taught to learn to listen to different perspectives to understand what's going on. Still was easier back home, when people had similar logic enough I could get what they meant most the time. Or half guess, at the very least. Here it ends up being an annoyance because we all assume this or that is common knowledge and it just isn't.

We're all from different worlds where things are different. Including logic and how things might work.

That! Exactly that! It's bothersome, but figuring out ways to understand where each person comes from is annoyingly necessary.

Unfortunately yes. At least that way we can come to understand others in a way we might never have before now.

Plus knowing about other worlds is just interesting in it's own way.
