[It's early morning when Leia appears on the network, just shortly after the morning announcement. It's obvious she's just woken up by the fact that her hair hasn't been put up and she's still wearing her nightgown.]

Did anyone else have a... very disturbing vision last night? More intense than a normal dream? If so, I'd like to compare notes.

[This vision was as vague as the other one had been, but from what she could infer from it, it meant nothing good.]

(OOC: Leia's roommates are welcome to have seen her wake up with a start, looking frightened for a moment, which is fairly unusual for her.)

When we have pre-mission dreams, it isn't always exactly the same dream. There may be variations, though usually small ones. This one strikes me as being a warning vision, and as you say, given the contents of it, it probably doesn't mean anything good. And of course, it gives no clue as to what we should do if the vision comes true while we're on this upcoming mission.

Of course not. That would be too helpful and make too much sense.

[Can he tell Leia isn't especially fond of how vague most visions are? Cause she isn't. At all.]

The question is, what can we figure out from what little we got?

Indeed! And then what would happen to the reputation of visions? [ Just a little bit snide. ]

[ He can tell! Leia isn't fond of the vagueness, and neither is Curufin, at least not for these train missions. ]

As for what we can figure, it does look like there is some disaster about to occur. The screams tell us that, even if nothing else does. It's just that the vision doesn't tell us anything about the origin of those streaming colors or what purpose they have. Or if there is any way we can prevent the damage from occuring.

I'd bet any money that the colors point to the involvement of the illusion-creating entity we faced on the last mission. And given the little we know of it so far, the fact that it would involved in some sort of massive disaster is no surprise. But aside from the fact that it's likely going to involve more illusions, we have no way of knowing what it might be up to.

I think you're right. That illusion-creating entity was associated with colors, so the dream suggests the entity will be involved in this next mission as well. And I'd give a lot to know what it is up to, and what are its reasons.

Mmm... Ever heard the phrase 'be careful what you wish for'? If we do end up facing the entity again, we may find out more about it than we care to know. Or at least, find it out in ways we'd rather avoid.

I have heard that phrase! I just hope that if we do meet that entity again, that it is willing to actually communicate with us. I can't blame it for its ignorance about us Voidtreckers, and I wasn't very polite when I last encountered it. It was making threats, and so I yelled at it and cursed it. But I wasn't setting a good example. Maybe if we meet that being again, some other kind of interaction will become possible.

Honestly after what it put people through last time, I can't blame anyone for yelling and cursing at it.

Still, if it's willing to talk, I'll listen. Though I highly doubt that anything it has to say will do much to change my opinion of it, given that it's responsible for two acts of attempted genocide, among other things.

[ Chuckle. ] I hope the entity doesn't blame me for it! That might make communication more difficult in the future.

Hopefully, it will be willing to talk to you. And I was going to say, even if it was responsible for attempted genocide, it still deserves a hearing. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance. If my people had not given me a second chance, I'd probably still be lost in the darkness of my memories. I committed quite a few evil actions in my own world, but I changed my life before I left that world and I'm still atoning for the actions of that earlier life.

And I believe that it's never too late for someone to change and to make a better choice, if they want to. But that's the key; they have to want to. And I saw no evidence of that on the entity's part.

Whatever else happens, if we confront the entity again, we can't let it continue to do what it's been doing. However we do it, our priority has to be stopping it. If that can potentially be done peacefully? Then we can try that route. But if that's not feasible...

[If that wasn't feasible, then they would have to employ other measures.]

That entity is pretty strange. If it wanted to make a change, I don't know if it could communicate that to us. But I agree, when I saw it for the first time, it didn't seem to have any interest in any such thing, it just wanted what it wanted.

I really hope we can influence that entity in such a way that it ceases to do harm. But I don't know exactly what we could do if it isn't willing to make a change. We'd have to kill it somehow, and we don't know anything about what sort of physical existance it has -- if it even is a physical entity! -- so we don't know what weapons we'd need.

I don't think physical weapons would do us much good in this case, no. We'd likely have better luck using and combining the various other abilities of those on board. It's going to take a coordinated effort in any case, if we need to bring it down; the entity has a lot of raw power at its disposal.

Could be! We do have a wide range of powers and abilities. I think I agree with you, it would take the coordinated efforts of all of us to overcome whatever raw power the entity might bring to bear on us.

Do you have any particular powers or abilities yourself?

[motherofresistance]

[She nods.]

I have the ability to tap into an energy field known as the Force, which gives me a number of abilities, including telekinesis. And thanks to the world I was on previously, I also have access to Bending, which is an ability that allows the user to manipulate reality with a combination of will, imagination, and practice. I've used both in combat before.

Ah, I see. I've heard of the Force, which seems a multifaceted power. And this Bending you speak of, is it actual reality you alter, or is this a power of illusion? Either way, I can see how both these powers would be useful in combat.

Actually altering reality. I'm hesitant to do it too much here, because it may cause problems for this world if overused, and I'm not certain what the safe limit is. But if it comes to combat I'm willing to take a few more chances.

That is amazing, that you have the ability to alter reality. If I had that power, I'd certainly use it in combat. Though, like you, I'd be hesitant to use it elsewhere.

Yes, it's frankly not really a power that's meant to be available to those outside of the world it comes from, so caution is definitely warranted.

But in the mean time, we have more pressing issues think about.

I'll talk to you a bit more about it after I'm dressed and have had breakfast. I have a feeling in depth discussion of all this is going to be a bit too complicated to take care of on just a cup of caf and in my nightgown.
