Video; Afternoon Catfish Day 23
Good afternoon, Voidtreckers. If I haven't met you yet, I'm Tony Stark. I have a few matters to discuss with all of you.
For those who are new to this train, please fill out the questionnaire that was attached to each ICP in the 'welcome packet'. Yes, these answers are kept strictly confidential and the only purpose for me collecting them is to find some kind of pattern in being brought here. For those who have been here longer, please check if you've completed all the questions as I've added a few. If this irritates you, blame Peter Parker.
Anyway, as requested, I'm going to be giving the Train Council a debriefing on my findings so far in the next few days. Spoiler alert, I've found very little patterns.
For anyone interested, I'll be posting a list of currently offered classes and at what time per week on the door going into the dining carriage. As of right now, there are yoga classes every morning at 8:30, people offering various types of sparring lessons, and I'll be starting school with a class on math and a class on science later this week. If you're interested, let me know so I can give you a pre-class test to see where your current level is.
Does anyone garden? I've been working on an update ventilation system since we have kids on the train and those who potential have compromised breathing. It occurred to me, we might benefit greatly if we started to add small gardens throughout the train. I'll create proper lighting. If someone can build some gardening boxes, that would also be appreciated. As of now I have a list of the items in the kitchen that can be planted for those who would enjoy such activities.
Lastly, is the damn book-demon idiot still occupying and being a pain in the ass in the garden carriage? You've got one hour to cut that out.
Feanor, come find me. We need to talk.
[ooc- The bold is OOC so people can skim this easier.]

I've done some gardening in the past.
Re: [video]
[He doesn't bother hiding his surprise, but he smiles pleased either way.]
I have someone volunteering to build planter boxes. Do you know what dimensions roughly you might need?
[His past endeavors were on a plot of land, too, but he's a wealth of random information so 47 can estimate.]
I can give you a standard size for starting off all of them in but some might require replanting if we go that route.
Re: [video]
I don't know if this will help or not, but these are the ingredients we have on hand that can be planted- sesame seeds, yellow and red bell peppers, limes, red chili, small tomatoes, garlic, rosemary, onions, parsley, and some mixed salad greens. I've been told we also still have some pumpkin seeds left from last month.
[He sets it down and looks at the man he's speaking to.]
We haven't really met yet, have we?

[It was the easier question to answer simply. As for the plants:]
I'm familiar with most of those. [He means for cultivating; he knows all of those plants in general and specifically as ingredients for food.] It'll be an impressive garden. The real question is do we have the soil to grow them in? I've worked land before. I can compromise here but the right materials are needed to recreate that in boxes instead of land.
[Rocks were not dirt. Even dirt was useless if it couldn't be properly fertilized.]

[He'd already introduced himself in his video, after all.
He listened as the man explained what else might be needed to build a garden and he frowned a bit.]
Well soil is decomposed matter, right? If we gathered kitchen waste and somehow found a way to quicken that process then that would be a start. Unfortunately we didn't think about that during our last mission. It'll be a few weeks before we'll know what our next one will be.
[He paused again to think.]
My wife used to put stuff she wanted to start a garden with in just a cup with water. Would that suffice to get some of these seeds and other things started? There might be enough chemicals around if there is supposed to be something that goes in the water.
[He might not know about gardening, but he did about biology and chemistry.]

Very good, Mr. Stark. [Not patronizing.] It's a good start until more supplies can be gathered. [beat] Heat and moisture. For a compost.
[47 was better at biology and chemistry that killed things rather than supported life. However, the thought had merit and 47 paused to consider.]
It would work to germinate the seeds. I believe... there's a precedence for growing plants with mineral water as you're suggesting. I haven't tried it before but if we can gather the proper minerals from things on the train, I can arrange it so the plants you've listed will grow.

[That last name wasn't ominous or anything.
Was that sarcasm? He couldn't tell. As much as the words might apply it, nothing else about the context suggested it.]
I'll see what I can do to create mineral water with the supplies we have. I'll let you know my progress on this.

Might I suggest a book on the subject? I've heard you can requisition such items if you've been here long enough. [To accumulate some sort of currency. But he hasn't any.] If I knew the exact amounts needed myself I could alleviate some of your workload.
[Tony seems to do a lot on this train. And people talk about it.]
[In the meantime though...] I'll help with the boxes needed until then.

[He didn't have interest in a book like this, but he could think of several who might. He wasn't above manipulating/ suggesting they spend their points to get such a thing for the library.]
If you're eager to get started, Prisoner- the man walking around like a lit lighter for a head- is here in the dining carriage looking anxious to start building. I have some material and tools you can use.
[Did that sound like an adult hanging over a pile of craft supplies to kids who needed to be given a project to stop bugging them? Maybe.]
no subject
Is that his name? [He actually sounded...displeased. That was a worse name than 47's subject number.] I'll head that way and instruct him. He seems capable.
[Why yes, 47 did actually know and like Prisoner already. Insomuch as 47 ever got to know and like anyone, that is.]
no subject
[And since Tobias is headed this way...]
How do you take your coffee?
no subject
[47 left the terminal shortly after that last transmission and headed their way.]
