... So if we vote for a lab the scientists shut up and any damage is contained. Right now I think they're using the quiet car which is sort of the opposite of what it's intended for.

And I'd like the quiet car back for... quiet. And doing some writing and such. So let's just... get it over with.

[He looks like he's about to turn off the screen, but stops.]

Also Q'uila, Della, Zagreus, and Thanatos - wanted to have a chat with you. Uh, not together? I mean you could, but I just - there's no private filtering here.

That's wonderful, Cas! [He grins, moving in to give Casper a big hug.] Congratulations, cousin. [He then pulls away a little, hands still on Casper's shoulders.] Did the Train do that for you, or did one of the passengers help you with that? Or did it just... sort of reattach itself?

[He then blinks.] Check in with me? Something else happen?

[He hugs back, glad there's someone he doesn't have to check his strength to hug.]

Death did it. Not - not Thanatos, the other one. I was just afraid of hurting Bob.

[Who, for once, is not around.]

No, I just... wanted to make sure you were okay. The last two places we landed were kind of rough, mentally. I wanted to see how you were doing, and let you know I'm always available if you want or need to talk.

Oh, she did? I met her on platform day. She seems nice. [And his estimation of her has soared also, thanks to what she's done for Casper.] Is Bob not a thing anymore, or is he... elsewhere?

[Oh. Well that's different. Zagreus sighs a little, shaking his head.] Look, Cas, it's a lot involving my family and the terrible ways they seem to deal with their interpersonal conflicts. I don't want to ruin your good time with all of... that.

Oh, no, he's just somewhere else. He doesn't have to be by my side all the time anymore.

[... Ah. He pulls back to look at Zagreus, meeting his gaze before smiling sympathetically.]

You're not the only one who had to deal with horrible family. I ran into my dad, who's... awful. My mother's also terrible - she's the one who did that to me.

[He gestures vaguely towards the direction he thinks Bob probably is in.]

It's different, I know. But I understand. ... I don't want to force you to talk about anything you don't want to, just... I want you to know that I'm here.

Well, sure, but I think it's safe to say I'm the only one who has to deal with my Father killing me on a regular basis when I try to see my Mother. Not that any of this excuses your parents, either, but... you understand what I mean, right?

[His blood boils at the thought of Hel doing that to her child. Her mortal child. Father threatened him with Promethean level punishments before, but never actually came through on any of them. Casper at least had that over Zagreus on the "shitty parents" roulette they both seem to have won in spades.]
