Month Llama, Day 17 [Video + Action]

Raptor waves to the camera then nods, "Ok. I'm Raptor-283, chief pilot for the Rebellion, and prime secretary for the same organization. I know we've all been kidnapped here, but I'm trying to make some sense out of things. I know that the train is an AI, but doesn't talk to people, and that there are four teams. Orange for science and tech, Red for combat, Purple for...."

She pauses and looks a bit confused, "Fabulous outfits, and.... Blue.... For um. Everything else? No one really went into Purple and Blue with me honestly. There's also a Black and a White team, but those I just heard the names of, I don't think anyone has admitted to being in them, so I'm going to guess it has something to do with espionage. Or really shy people. Either way, I don't know much."

She nods and takes a breath, or at least moves like she did, "I'm trying to figure out is there an actual mission for all of this, or is it random show up, get wierded out by illusions, then go off before you get a chance to actually test your anti wifi brain hacking prototype?"

"Any info would help! Thanks!"

[Action]

Raptor is many things, but a spy is not one of them. Yet she can be seen shadowing various people poorly, and writing things in her book frequently. Maybe she's trying to blend in with the kitchen implements, maybe she is trying to look like she is exercising in the training area and has just missed the heavy bag for the eleventh time. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who or where she is doing it.

She also gets very very skittish if anyone tries to look into her book.

Confront the robot in an orange hoodie?

Hajime is trying to work out with one of the training dummies. Emphasis on trying, because he has absolutely noticed the robot in the orange hoodie unsubtly doing...whatever it is she's doing. He rather abruptly stops pummeling the poor dummy and just stares. Doesn't approach, just watches right back.

But hey, at least he's not going over there and trying to look into the book, there's that.

Oh gosh! Oh gosh! He sees me! He sees me! Act casual! Act casual! He is totally not the mysterious stranger for your next kung fu story material.

With that thought she over swings at the heavy bag, hits it, knocking it back, but not noticing it swing back and knock her on her butt.

"Oww.."

Well, at least he's not the sort who's going to laugh at her misfortune. "Your form's terrible." He is instead going to offer unsolicited gym advice. This is how you navigate this sort of weird social situation when you know you've caught someone staring at you and a punching bag has shown them the necessary comeuppance, right? Just pretending like nothing at all has happened?

She rubs her nose, or where her nose would be and shrugs, "I'm more of a long ranger fighter anyways. I was just.... Trying to get a new view of things."

A new view of things by staring at him? Hajime seems skeptical but continues on in the time-honored tradition of That Guy Offering Unwanted Gym Advice despite not having enough human social experience to know that's a thing. "You're not doing yourself any favors if you're going to teach yourself incorrectly while doing whatever the new thing is."

Purple team tends to deal with the larger scale logistical issues.

[Probably good they're such a larger team]

Defending a city or investigating murders.

Blue often has missions that involve assisting the locals. Evacuation and protection.

"Aren't defense and protection the same thing? Or is one logistics and the other public outreach."

Raptor desperately tries to think of anyone she knows in the Blue team and see them as a politician. Sadly, she can't make the connections and just shakes her head.

Blue is more... backup in case the lines get breached.

In the mission before last, Purple looked after the city's defenses while Blue got the locals to safety. They might still end up fighting, but it's not the main goal.

"So Blue is the defense team, and Purple is logistics and support. So Orange is really the only non combat group?"

Orange is the least likely to see combat, at least.

[It does still happen sometimes, combat is a hard thing to keep in one place]

But that's a good general sense of it.

Raptor is no spy, but nor is Potato much for detecting spies. Or shadows.

Or really a whole lot of anything, though it can be surprising what she catches! For now however, Potato is going all over that train! She always does. There's lots to see! And plenty to talk aloud, to herself, about.

Such as-

"Awwww there's no new stuff..." It took a bit of time to be absolutely sure, but she's sure now! There are no brand new rooms on this train. BOOO, hiss!

Raptor looks up from her note taking and tilts her head, "There are usually new train rooms here?"

"WoAH!"

Potato did not, it so seems, notice Raptor behind her at all.

She's perfectly fine answering though. "Yeah!! Last time it stopped, we all had to go outside, and when we got back, there was a fancy hotel spot!"

"Fancy hotel spot? I've never been to a fancy hotel! And I missed it...."

She pouts a bit at that.

Potato hurriedly and excitedly shakes her head.

"No, no!! It's on the train!! There's a fancy hotel spot on the train!!"

"On the train? Where? I didn't see a place with pianos and hot tubs and rooms with little minty brown cubes on the pillows!"

What a curiously specific reply, definitely including things that are on this train!

Potato suspects nothing. "What!! Not even the hot tub spot!?! I've gotta show you then! It's really cool, even if I can't get into the hotel one without points..."

It's not that Haneul's not used to performing in front of an audience - he teaches dance, after all, and then there's the band - but he's really not sure what to make of this particular audience. Who is also a teammate, for extra awkwardness.

It doesn't really help that Lucy's complaining about her presence (or 'skulking,' as they put it), so Haneul sighs inwardly and gives up on his dance practice for the time being. "Is everything okay?" he asks instead.

Raptor jumps up and slams her book shut, "Everything is fine! I was just uh.... Catching up on paperwork from home? Since... I can?"

...Right. Haneul makes a point of squelching his immediate response to that, which is Pull the other one; it's got bells on, in favor of something a bit less aggressive. "That's... diligent?"

Okay, so it's still not a great response. Still, though... what the hell.

"I guess? It is something to do, right?"

Raptor lets out a breath, completely believing her golden deception worked. Because otherwise someone may actually read her fan fic.

It would be a very sad something to do if Haneul thought she was actually doing it, which he doesn't. But at least he hasn't come into actual physical contact with her book, and as such doesn't actually know what she's doing with it, so Raptor's still got that going for her. "I guess so."

And he probably should try to make some sort of conversation with his teammate, shouldn't he? "So what brings you to the gym carriage, anyway?"

Uh... you can stop yourself from getting brain hacked? Might like to see that prototype.

[Not for any particular reason or anything! He's fine, really.]

This last mission was pretty weird, but usually, we have an enemy that's a little more obvious and out in the open to fight. Or at least pretty clear instructions about to help.

"It is a tinfoil hat.... It really just stops wifi signals, but.... It... Looks kind of silly."

Ah... So uh, you can't block signals that could come in internally.

[Rich looks disappointed for a moment.]

I'd still like to see it, though. I mean, maybe you can come up with a design that makes it a little more fashionable?

"I'm not sure, fashion has never been something I was experienced with!"

Oh, it's cool! I'm not super experienced with it either, but I at least know a thing or two.
