llama 16, video + action
[ Hello, ICP video. There's a Tidus sitting on the computer chair in the standard coach when the image pops up, waving up a hand to the screen. ]
Hey, 'sup everyone! I got some stuff from the last mission with Inigo and Dennis that we wanna share with the rest of the train. Some computer tablets, VR glasses, goggles - hey Seto! You can do somethin' with those, right? - and some clothes and whatever else we could get our hands on.
Nothin' like books or music or food. Sorry! But if you like lamps or fans, we got those. [ Ahahaha. ] Oh yeah, and some first aid kits too, if any of the teams want 'em for supplies. And speaking of, Jane told me about these bacta bandages thingies they use where she's from. Like some kind of healing...gel you can sit over wounds? Uh, I got a book on it for an easier time understanding the stuff.
Annnyway, [ moving alooong, ] there's something I wanted to talk about with the last mission and those illusions. I know there's people who know how to work with tech or magic, usually one or the other... well, I don't know anything about making things, but I know there's a lot you can do with the right tools and know-how. And there was some magic and gear that could push back on the illusions. Like a bracer I have, and one of the spells on the manadrives!
I was talkin' with Q'uila - she's a blacksmith that works with enchanting. And I know there's this big chunky book on magic and magitek in the library. Uhh, I've never read it [ because NO THANKS ] but I didn't know if we could... do something? To help with these missions? Create some kinda...I don't know, big barriers when we turn them on, that don't need magic folk casting them! Put our heads and resources together and make somethin' cool!
[ Cool magitek science junk!! ]
A-anyway! [ Because he realises he's really reaching here-! ] If anyone's interested, I'm fine if you wanna check out the bracer that helped with the illusions - even if you need to take it apart. And I know Senku's been checking out the manadrives - that has a magic barrier spell too, and Light got manuals on the things. And I got some other gems and protection gear from my world too! If it'll help. Never know, right?
'kay, well - see you!
[ ACTION: standard coach ]
[ And for those of you who come into the standard coach, either because of the message or just because you were passing through, Tidus has taken up a table with a bunch of...everything on the table. Tablets, pens, folded clothes in different sizes, cute toys and ...cubes?.
And Tidus is sat taking up an entire booth couch, legs folded and playing a handheld game.
Let's play shop. ]

But Inigo figures he - hopefully - can really keep the other from making this too big too quickly. He'll pull out the puppy eyes if he has to. It seems the enthusiasm train has definitely left Tidus's station at mach speed now. ]
Taiki might not be able to keep up.
[ Which he's mostly saying since that's worrying, since they both know how Taiki starts to feel when he can't keep up.. they can't break his heart in the slightest, bro!! ]
It'd be better for us to instead do something with us that matches him, like..
[ ...
Give him a second, he's thinking here. ]
That.. yoga thing? [ Even after a few seconds of thought he still has no idea what that is.
And it's obvious too, just judging by his tone. ]
no subject
But the way Inigo repeats him does give Tidus a small chuckle. It's okay bro- ]
They're stretches! There's a lot of different stances you can do, but it's a way of exercising the body that's easy-going. You hold a pose for a while and then move onto the next one!
[ See? Very Taiki speed. ]
I think Tobes from Red was doing classes. I went to a few... but I had to start learning meditation from Piccolo, so I swapped them out. [ Because he can't do two slow activities, okay!! ]
What do you think? Think you like slow and easy?
no subject
At least he does mostly mean it as a joke. Mostly. He would still prefer to not get any balls thrown at him, thanks. But something that's mostly just an advanced form of stretching? He's not exactly a regular stretcher, but he can do that, he figures.
And it does sound like something Taiki should be very much capable of as well. ]
Maybe we can find some calming music to put on while we do it?
[ You know, for the easily (Tidus) distracted (Tidus) among us (Tidus). ]
no subject
[ You know all his stretches, A.K.A his idle animation. ]
It's always five minutes after the train leaves we have to make all these plans though, huh? [ Ugh! If only they had a reason to sit around doing nothing two hours ago!! ]
Too bad the train didn't take to my idea that we should have a vacation somewhere. 'least, I didn't see any bags sitting around luggage.
[ And that's happened twice when they've been left off the train, now. ]
no subject
It's because the idea machine here always activates at the exact wrong moment! [ It's both a joke and a - positive - acknowledgement. Most of the time the ideas come from Tidus, after all.
When he moves to sit back down though, Inigo crosses his arms over his chest. ]
But.. if the train hasn't listened to your request, I don't think we should be too surprised if it instead appears as an option on the next poll.
no subject
...appears...on the next poll. ]
Noooooo! [ Have you seen a face drop in real time as quickly as this? ] Don't joke around about that! I've had it with that stupid poll! It'd stupid! It's gonna drive me crazy if we have to vote for holidays next! Ugh, don't even let the train hear it!
[ Congratulations, Inigo, you've got Tidus grabbing his head at this absolute horror scenario. Should it bug him so much when he hardly pays attention to the polls anymore?
doesn't matter, THIS THOUGHT IS REALLY BUGGING HIM. ]
no subject
[ Look, bro, he's being nice and warning you so you don't have to double freak out when you see it on the next poll!
Because Inigo would be so unsurprised if it showed up there. It's usually what happens when the train doesn't give them something right away. It just shoves it onto The List.
Inigo is pointing at Tidus again, but this time without getting up. ]
So you can't tell me I didn't tell you once it happens! Mark my words!
no subject
[ He's done it, Inigo has. He's initiated, floppy sulking Tidus mode, where following - and through - that groan is Tidus flopping his head where the back of the couch would meet it, if he were a little less tall. But that's fine, since misery also means letting all of your limbs slouch for effective Misery. ]
Why did you have to ruin my day like that.
[ Look at him, Inigo. You gave this guy depression. ]
no subject
It seems the sulking tables have turned, because whereas Tidus was seeing a mopey Inigo only a few moments ago, right now Inigo is viewing the most dramatic version of sulking right on the other side of the table.
But he still won't stand for it, especially when he's the guilty party here for making Tidus look so miserable.
So Inigo gets up to move over to Tidus's side on the table, sitting down next to him and scooting over to be right at his side - trying to avoid any miserably sprawled out limbs in the process.
There's a quick glance around, just to make sure no one is passing through, and then Inigo leans in to plant a quick kiss on Tidus's sulky lips. (Is that how he fixes it? He's pretty sure that's how he fixes it!!) ]
Hey, come on. We can always have a small vacation with just the two of us, you know? We can turn on the beach in our room!
no subject
A pair of lips that Tidus wasn't expecting, even as Inigo came round to his side, scooting on in. As soon as they touch, Tidus blinks, and all alarms go off in his head, a fluster of emotions only being stopped from getting too out of hand by not wanting Inigo to get the wrong impression.
But that sure does get Tidus to sit up, a small pout on his lips, but looking more embarrassed than just like a melting puddle of whining. ]
I guess... [ be cool, tidus!! ] And we're gonna have a fun day anyway! For your and Taiki's party! [ huff- ] I don't care what the train does! It can do whatever it wants!
And we can do whatever we want too!
[ yeah, see! h-he wasn't sulking at all! ]
1/3
Did that actually somehow work? ]
no subject
That actually somehow worked!! ]
no subject
But then it just starts to blossom into a wild happiness in his chest, and it makes him smile. ]
That sounds more like the Tidus I know! [ He laughs. ] If it won't care about our suggestions, we don't have to care about the dumb things it does.
no subject
Right! You know what? We should try making the water pool that Roland talked to me about! He said Gibbers can make it - we just need the space to pull it off. We can do it in the sports gym!
[ Because everyone is more about the training gym for anything. ]
What do you say? We can do it tomorrow... or after the big birthday bash!
no subject
[ Because usually Inigo may have a few more protests to the idea, but right now.. Considering what Tidus just said, and that the other is recovering from sulking, Inigo is in a 'screw it, let's go for it' kind of mood.
Even if it involves potentially having to take his shirt off in public - or what will be public once someone passes by, anyway. He can be a big boy for once. ]
And hey, there's no way I'd be able to drown in that! [ Don't jinx it, Inigo. ]
no subject
If you start drowning, you can poke your head out! No problem. [ No problem! This is definitely a good plan for people who can't hold their breath forever. ]
Okay, sounds like we've got a good week ahead of us. And don't forget - [ aha, giving Inigo a nudge! ] give Taiki his outfit! Have you checked it out yet? How's it look?
no subject
I like it. It really reminds me of home, even though it's been a while since I've seen anyone wear something like it. [ Between the apocalypse in the future and then constantly being around battlefields in the past too.. ] I can show you later, when we're back at our room. I left it there, since I wasn't sure if putting it in the band wouldn't make it all.. wrinkly.
[ ONLY THE BEST FOR THEIR FAVOURITE PAL. ]
no subject
[ That isn't just modern day outfits.
Instead, medieval modern day outfits! ]
no subject
I've looked at it before, but there's only a few clothes that get close to a more Ylissean style. Most of it is.. [ Inigo seems to have trouble describing it, considering it's what he was never used to before back home, so he just makes a few vague gestures, as if that might explain it in his place. ] .. you know. The kind of clothes the train gave us when we showed up here.
[ The hoodies and the pants and all. Modern clothes. ]
I think we are probably the odd ones out back in Ylisse for how we dress. [ Considering the ratio in that catalogue feels like it's even the train's way of saying it isn't the default. Or normal at all. ]
no subject
One more way the train makes things difficult. [ Not even letting people buy clothes are look more homely for our medieval folks. ]
What about making your own clothes? You've made a couple for Jumblie - all you'd need is more fabric, and bigger measurements!
[ How hard could it be?? ]
no subject
I.. guess I probably could with some help.
[ But that doesn't seem to be the main problem, since Inigo is still frowning, despite admitting that. ]
But I'm not so sure if I want to wear those around the train. It'll make me look so.. different. [ If the train already thinks he's weird, then all these otherworldly people surely will too!! Please, he is too selfconscious for this. ]
no subject
Well make some for me too. [ --and that second of consideration is all Tidus needs before the suggestion is out of his mouth. Easy! No biggy! No worries! ]
I'll wear them. Why not! Just make me some shorts. You guys have shorts back home? Or something nice and loose around the legs. Like I always wear!
[ Except Ylissean! ]
no subject
[ Not that Tidus's generosity is anything new, mind you. But it still catches Inigo slightly by surprise, and he stares at the other quietly for a moment before he continues. ]
Well, people don't.. really wear shorts back home. [ Please, Tidus, what if someone sees an ANKLE?
(Don't think too hard about the way other people are just barechested. Or how Inigo's mom just doesn't wear pants at all.) ]
But some people do wear more baggy pants? Would you be alright with those?
no subject
[ And if it makes Inigo comfortable too - it seem like something small and far from inconvenient to him, while Inigo gets to not feel like The Only One. ]
You could turn into Webs's rival one day!
[ business rivalry!! ]
no subject
Let's not get ahead of ourselves that quickly! [ Please! Before the terrifying spider girl catches wind of it, he's too scared to deal with her. ]
But making clothes.. would be fun, I think. [ Inigo smiles warmly. ] It's a fun form of self-expression, you know?
[ Like dancing.
But less mortifying. ]
And if you'd wear what I'd make too, then I guess I don't have to feel as awkward about it.
