[ After an extremely awkward encounter with his Aunt, Peter wanders back to the makeshift lab to poke at something-what he's not sure but he's embarrassed now and he needs a distraction. Even if it does involve facing Tony for... whatever it was he did to annoy his Mentor. ]

S'up Mr Stark. Can I hide here for a bit? Cool, thanks.

[Tony has his laptop set up with Wayward Son by Kansas playing. He had two hollow metal squares and some grid work forming inside one of them. He glanced up from where his Iron Man glove was soldering the tiny bits together. He gave Peter a questioning look behind the safety googles he often used from the medical labs when he worked.

At the request, he shrugged.]

Sure. Knock yourself out. Just try not to bump the table.

[ He nods and settles in a seat a little ways away from Tony's current project to be sure not to bump into it. ]

So... what are you working on? Anything I can help with?

[He didn't look up as he very carefully let go of the piece he was working on to see if it would hold correctly.]

I'm trying to upgrade the ventilation system. With the cigarette smoke, people's BO, and an ever-on-fire man's head, it seemed wise to make sure if you ever lose your powers, you won't die.

O-oh... [ Peter glances over to get a good look at his progress. ]

I mean, I definitely agree we should do something about the ventilation system but I think if you just have Ms Custer smoke in the Garden Car it'll filter in there a lot better because, you know. there are trees and stuff in there.

[ He says, watching as Tony works. ]

And I mean really, what are the chances I lose my powers? That seems pretty unlikely.

[ Says the boy that statistics are usually against. ]

[He takes a moment to consider that.]

Just how much would the trees be able to take of that crap before we're back to the same problem only with the rock garden?

[He legit wants to know. You tapped his curiosity, lucky you.

However all pleasantness on his face from the new idea vanish at that awful choice of words.]

Really? It's just like that idiot on the space station! 'Nothing has ever gone wrong with the dino cages'. Why even say that? Jurassic Park in space!

[ Peter thinks about it for a minute. He's pretty sure, as long as the trees are there they'll keep producing oxygen. Maybe some kind of fan should be there but the air should stay relatively fresh. Maybe he needs to read a book about trees or something. ]

[ Then Mr Stark mentions the catastrophe from the last mission and he knows it's in poor taste but he can't help himself. ]

Sounds like they might have spared some expense. Phil Tippet really dropped the ball with his supervising again.

[As obnoxious as that was, Tony couldn't help but laugh. It was clever!

He thinks for another moment when he quiets.]

So is there a point in the ventilation system? We have inhalers and we have the rock garden. Although if something else were to cause a problem with the air, I'd like to be ready for it.

[Though this might lower the priority on this particular project.]

Wonder if it would be more important to develop some better lights so we can grow plants in more areas. I bet I can pawn- er- 'delegate' that to the elves.

[ Peter shrugs because he's not too sure how to grow a garden without plants. Or other plants. ]

Probably a good idea to worry about that first-but the next world we stop on, we should probably ask like... gardening tips and stuff and take some seeds.

[Tony sighed.]

There's no telling what the next world we go to will be like. I'd appreciate it at least not being on fire.

Yeah, I mean that's pretty high on my list too. It's not at the top of the list but it's-it's pretty up there.

I'll be interested to find out if you get a response from the conductor. I've only directly spoken to him that one time when I threatened him. We haven't really attempted to strike up a conversation with him before.
