Hey there! Casper and Raven here - uh, for the new people, I’m Casper. She’s Raven. We have something we’ve been working on that we’re ready to share.

A lot of people on this train have trouble sleeping for various reasons. I’ve got a few different methods of helping with the bad sleep. One of which was inspired by one of Casper’s ideas, which is why we’re doing this together.

We thought we’d help out. I know a lot of people here have enough trouble with nightmares that they don’t want to sleep, so we both have things for each room. Raven has her… uh. Why don’t you explain yours?

There’s melatonin capsules in Medical to help regulate your day and night cycle, I have some teas and infusions, along with sachets, and the last relates to Casper’s idea.

On my previous travels I... picked up an ability to make something called dreamcatchers. Which I know are a thing some of you might have heard of, but it’s different. Sort of. It absorbs the nightmares of those around it and emits a kind of passive magic regeneration. You can also pull magic from it directly, too - I can show you how if that applies to you. And please do, since they do have a limit. Oh, and I made them look like little plush stars... because it's cute...

Based on his version of a Dreamcatcher, I’ve done something similar but using amethyst crystal globes as the base. They’ll do the same thing, except for being able to pull magic from it. Sanzo has kindly offered to help me cleanse them every platform day, so the nightmares won’t build up too much. I have 10 currently made, and they’ll hang in string-basket-bags from the doorway of your cabin. The idea is 1 globe per cabin, and if you need something more personal, I can work with that or Casper can.

And mine should work just fine on their own? If they don’t, please let me know. I haven’t tried to make so many go at once... there might be some fine-tuning that has to happen.

Oh, and uh. If you’re worried about some other kind of mind-altering effects, it doesn’t do that. I can explain a little more later if you want to find me. Oh, speaking of finding -

[Honestly, Zelgadis isn't sure he needs them for dreams, at least at the moment, but he is interested in the magical energy aspect and wants to know how it works if people will be hanging these things up.]

So, you've somehow managed to turn nightmares into magical energy.

Yeah, pretty much! It's not a ton of magic, but it helps. And it's nice to have something good come from something bad.

How does it know the difference between a nightmare and a normal dream?

Well... it's from a world with a connected dreamworld. I guess since it's magic taken from a dream world, it sort of... knows? I'm sorry, I don't... actually know for certain. A lot of the skills we ended up picking up we just sort of...

[What's the right word...]

We got them to work outside of their normal rules, so a lot of us never really looked into exactly how it did or didn't work since we couldn't really recreate the conditions we got them in.

Nope, I don't think so.

[In fairness he hadn't been checking too closely, but his aren't all that complicated to make, so he can just sew some more if need be.]

[He holds his dreamcatcher out - it's a little plush star with a space pattern fabric and a ribbon sewn into it to act as a handle.]

Learning how to make these is kind of the only way I got any sleep for years, so if I can pass it along to other people I'm more than happy to.

It works the same way as the orb ones right? Just hang it up somewhere, and it'll work for everyone in the room?

And how exactly do you go about pulling magic out of it on purpose? Aside from my fire, I'm not a big magic user, but one of my best friends is. And unfortunately the likelihood of her asking herself is pretty slim.

That's why I specified, yeah. It confused me at first too, but that's what that world calls it... it was a dream world where people were basically superheroes. Like... I didn't watch much anime, but kind of like that?

Huh... for a second, I thought you were talking about like, a star fruit in a video game. I've seen a couple of those. But superheroes weren't quite what I was imagining.
