[Taiki is stood in front of the ICP in the stores, to not be underfoot in the kitchen as he did this. His face is stern, a lot sterner and stoic than most who knew the young man would expect. Not a twitch or a tremor betrayed just how nervous he was to be speaking over the ICPs. Or to be talking about this at all.]

Hello, I hope everyone who joined us yesterday have begun to settle in. For those who don't know me my name is Taiki and I'm on the Red team. However I rarely am with the red team on missions and that is part of what I wish to speak with you about today. It is a new month and that means there will be a mission in a few days time. I am someone who does not fight and cannot condone violence done towards any other creatures, I say this not to condemn those of you who feel differently but to explain why I struggle being of use on the missions we are sent on. I often wonder if it would be better to remain here on the train but I cannot contemplate leaving my friends to go into danger without me and the missions are to save worlds. If refusing to fight for a world would mean it's demise than abstaining from the mission would be an act of cruelty in itself. [He shook his head.] So I have been finding ways to help without being near the fighting. However it has come to my attention that there are others who feel the same way I do even if they have their own reasons for it.

I thought it might be useful, if together we made ourselves known and figured out ways we could provide assistance to help those on these worlds without causing any harm. If anyone has any ideas of tasks that could be done by those who cannot or will not fight please suggest them. I wish to be of use and I am sure others do too.

[His face grows a tiny bit lighter, though keeping the stoic mask.]

On a slightly related note I bought a selection of vegan foods including a meal kit to make plant burgers. [He says vegan like the word is still quite new to him and 'plant burgers' like he is very dubious about their existance.] I am planning on doing some cooking if anyone wanted to try any of it.

[ Reading over the recipe again, she nods. ]

Yeah. It might be fun to make different options. Let people choose which ones they might like better.

If you mean the kind that come premade in a bag, then no; I've had regular potato chips like that but not sweet potato ones, though I know they do make them.

If you mean the other kind of chips, though, I have had sweet potato fries before. They're pretty good, especially with a bit of powdered sugar. There was actually a restaurant back home that would serve them with a side of this great apple butter-based BBQ sauce to dip them in; that stuff was the best.

[A nod.] I... I can go to the stores, see what we have. We can experiment.

I think the fries. Not the ones that come in a bag. [He shrugs lightly.] Fries weren't a traditional food in Japan and my parents... My earth parents I mean. They were very strict about food. My grandma too. She had strong opinions.

I'm not sure they had sweet potatoes in Tai at all. Or fries. Or chips that come in a bag.

What is a kirin?

[ Huaisang knows it's expected not to know where the other comes from but it would be good to at least know what he means when he says what he is. ]

It's a creature, um like a horse if you know what one of those is, with a horn... In my world each kingdom has a kirin and we... listen to the gods and choose the king and then serve them, helping them stay on the right path.

Yeah, we can try out different things. You, uh...might wanna be the one to take care of that, though.

[ She's learned that she's not very good at experimenting with food. ]

I can... [He tilted his head.]

I'm sure you would be good at it too.

[ Kitty laughs a little, somewhat embarrassed, as she shakes her head. ]

Oh no. I'm actually really bad at it, trust me.

Oh... Sorry... [He smiled at her, reaching out to touch her hand.] I can help.

[ She shrugs a little, not at all offended. ] It's okay. I'm learning to do better in the kitchen.

[ Slowly.

Glancing up at him, she returns the smile. ] But yeah, I wouldn't mind the help, thanks.

I'm always happy to help, I'm starting to enjoy cooking. It's interesting, all the different things you can make...

[ Kitty nods. ] Yeah, it's really cool. Though I'm still learning how to do it. I was pretty bad at it when I tried cooking back home.

It took me a while to learn. I really only could make ramen back on earth...

[She nods in return.]

You're quite welcome. If there's anything else you and your friends might need that you think I could help with as well, feel free to ask.

[She was very kind. He would make sure to keep an eye out for her in the future.]

Really? Like the fancy kind of ramen, or instant?

[ She could passably make instant ramen...but there might still be some weird ingredients. ]

[Lea nods.]

Yeah, it really depends on the world- and sometimes the part of the world- what foods there are available. And I think pre-bagged chips at least are a fairly modern thing, so a lot of less technologically advanced worlds probably wouldn't have them.

That's too bad though, about your parents. But hey, at least you can try lots of new stuff here if you want.

Just instant ramen. I never really learned how to cook.

[And he hadn't had much access to ingredients.]

Yes I have tried a lot of food here. There's a lot more vegetarian food than I thought there was.

[And just other food in general, which made sense considering the amount of worlds.]

[ She nods. ] Well, at least we're getting to learn now.

Yes. [He smiled at her again and leaned over to read the next part of the recipe.]

All this talk about food reminds me of something. Have you ever had grilled fruit? Fruit isn't something that most people would think of when it comes to cooking on a grill, but it's really good, especially with honey and cinnamon.

[Taiki thought for a moment and then shook his head.] No... I haven't had anything like that before.
