[So if some of you haven't seen Murderbot yet - which isn't surprising, it's been absolutely keeping to itself as much as possible - you've now seen it. It's staring at the video feed with a slight frown, hand half-blocking the view]

All right, this should-

[And as it speaks? The words are popping in around it. Sort of like disjointed subtitles. Its eyes widen imperceptibly, then narrow just as much as its frown deepens.]

That's not supposed to-

[It doesn't actually say those ones aloud- but they pop in anyway. Its frown turns in to a scowl as other words fill the feed - we're talking floating sentences ranging from expressions of annoyance, to is that raw binary? - before the entire message cuts off.]

It's still a pretty quick reply - this decision is made at the speed of computing, after all - and when Murderbot responds, it seems like it's covering the camera with its hand or something because there's nothing at all]

Like, I'm okay, the text-to-speech I have is good and with a little adjustment it's hard to tell from a human voice, but most people aren't from 2035's level of technology. Also there's a deaf kid?

Since I'm guessing someone from far enough back to be pre-mobile-phones isn't going to be able to mess with a system like this. Hell, I'm pretty sure even DDOS-era text-entry-only would at least recognize the concept.

[Look at those words fuckin' go,, though. It's no wonder Ghost was annoyed at the speed of talking - that's about the speed of organic thought, if Murderbot is paying enough attention to time it. Maybe a little slower.]

[Honestly, it makes Murderbot feel the slow one. It can take in the data quickly enough, but speech itself- ugh. It can communicate so much faster with direct feed...]

I was more wondering about the 'levitating' part.

All it is is hijacking the visual overlay to accept a secondary input, and being able to parse and express that input.

I mean, no judgement if you are. One of my friends is a sentient AI living in one of my best friend's phone. But I guess you could also be from some far off future where humans have gone all transhumanist/cyborg or something.
