Day 3
Video From: Sleeper Carriage 1 A
To: Everyone
[ Gwen and Peter are on screen, in the main part of their cabin on the communication device. This broadcast goes through the whole train. It’s important, and Gwen has her journal and pen, ready to write things down. ]
Okay, so...serious question time. It’s about food allergies, specifically, since those seem to be the most difficult to deal with.
[ Tapping the pen against her cheek for a moment, she tries to think of a way to best ask this question without sounding like a total jerk, but there’s really no way around it. Oh, well. ]
I need to know what food-related allergies people have on the train. I want to keep a list for whoever’s on kitchen duty. I know it’s gonna create extra work, making sure people have meals that won’t cause problems, but considering we’re on a train traveling to God knows where through the Void, it’s probably the least of our worries. I figure, as long as we keep it updated, we should be fine.
[ Peter’s got his head down in his hands as he sits in the chair at the small table with Gwen. This whole thing is reminding him a little of the whole Midtown Tech morning News thing Betty and Jason do. He lets out a breath and looks up. ]
Yeah-one of us recently had a thing and got our asses kicked by allergies again. [ Spoilers. It was him, he still feeling a little puny and lets his head flop onto the table again muttering something about ‘who knew Rosemary worked as Spider repellent. ]
[ Gwen smiles just a bit, reaching over to tousle his hair teasingly, the smile on her face mildly affectionate before she resumes her time on the broadcast. ]
And since we’re trying to avoid that kind of thing from happening again to anyone, just let us know who you are and what you’re allergic to. And no saying you’re allergic to something if it’s just something you don’t like. If you don’t like it, just pick it out of your food. Or deal with it.
[ A small, almost Kanye-Shrug from Gwen. She and Peter got their asses kicked by lavender, Peter got his ass kicked by rosemary. It’s pretty embarrassing, really. ]
Thanks for your help!
[ Before the broadcast ends, Gwen can possibly be heard teasing Peter with a half-heartfelt ‘you need constant supervision, Peter.’ ]
[ at the very last second there’s a small groan from Peter and a mumbled ‘do not’ right before the screen goes black again. ]

She pulled a face as he continued. "You do no be being a spider though?" So why would he have the same allergies as one?
no subject
"It's... complicated. Involves a pretty rough spider-bite." Yeah, he got powers out of it but he also kind of felt like dying the first few days.
no subject
But considering she had never heard of allergies, that didn't mean much. "I guess the spider did be giving you it's poison and that do be reacting with the things to be making you sick. But a lot of people do be dying when a spider do be biting them or they do be having to be cutting their foot off or their hand. So at least you did no be needing to be doing that."

no subject
Why does her world have less words than everyone else's.
"Why do it be needing to be being a secret?"
no subject
Was that enough or should he try to explain more? He's not really against breaking out his notebook and offering her science lessons-science is neat!
"That's uh... complicated too-I mean initially it was because I didn't really want May to know because it was like... right around the time Uncle Ben uh... died." He's doing that thing again where he taps his fingers together to expel some nervous energy.
no subject
It's not a poison she has heard of though, perhaps it doesn't exist in her world.
"Would she have been being mad?" She's a little more confused at this part of the story. His uncle, the thief, had been killed and Peter had been bitten around the same time. She can understand keeping nearly dying a secret though, it's a weakness.
no subject
"But yeah-after Uncle Ben got uh.. shot-she was really not gonna be okay with me going out every night and taking on people that might try to kill me-and she wasn't okay with it-oh man, she let Mr Stark have it when she found out he was encouraging me."
no subject
But more people wanted to kill him? Had the spider bite been deliberate? Surely not. Sending a spider to bite someone was a stupid way to try and kill them...
"Who did be wanting to be killing you?"
no subject
He lets out a sigh and as helpful as it isn't, Peter just offers a shrug because honestly the list grows everyday and he doesn't have time to keep up with it.
"Bad guys. It's kinda in their job description." He shrugs. "Break the law, try to stab and/or shoot Spider-Man."
no subject
Bad guys... People who broke the law. People like her. She's not surprised, not really. She had figured out that they were light addled already. Everyone on this train was.
"Spider man? That do be being what you do be calling yourself?"
For a name it's not... Bad to name yourself after something that almost killed you. But it does sound a little silly.
no subject
"...But yeah. Spider-Man. It's my superhero name."
no subject
None of those words made sense. "Superhero name? You do be having a name for being a hero?"
Some heroes who became well known were given extra names, to show how brave and good they were. But Peter? He had three names and also a hero name?
no subject
"See, I don't really want anyone aside from like... a select few people back home knowing that I'm Spider-Man-I actually ear like a full mask and everything."
no subject
Or did he fear enemies? She had to keep much of herself secret because if people found out her allegiances she'd be killed. Maybe it was the same for him. He seemed light addled but... Maybe it was different in his world. Maybe the world was tilted towards darkness.
"So you do be working in disguise?"
