Video Post--Open to All--Restful Sleep Plan
[For once, her face isn't obscured by a concealing cowl, as Raven positions herself in front of the ICP's screen.]
Some of you might know me, but to others who don't as well as newcomers, I'm Raven. One of the healers on board the train. I come from Earth, around the 21st century of the common era, from Jump City in the United States of America.
[It's more background than she usually gives.]
I've been on the train for several months now, and one thing that's become very obvious is we have a lot of people who have trouble sleeping. It doesn't really matter what the route cause of the trouble is, be it insomnia or nightmares or anything else. I recently ordered some books from home, and have been trying to think of ways to help us. I have some ideas, and would definitely appreciate help. Either in crafting, where magic will be involved, or in buying stuff. Also, don't feel you need magic to help--I'll be providing most of the magic.
Some of it doesn't even need to be magic at all, like one of the simpler ideas. We have these window boxes of flowers on the train right? Could we grow lavender in them, to help promote calm and peace?
Most of my ideas involve mixing herbs and making sachets, tea, bath-tea bags, or infusions. I also suggest we order melatonin capsules. So if you want to help with making any of the above, I would be grateful.
The other idea I had, inspired by what Casper mentioned about a thing in his world, is to put amythyst 'dream catcher' crystals in every sleeper cabin. These would be in woven basket-bags, and be tuned to pull bad dreams and negative dreams in and away from the sleeper. They'd need to be purified every platform day though, which isn't too hard depending on how that purification would happen. We'd need a lot of these, as there are 8 sleeper cars now, with 5 cabins in each.
[That's the bulk of her plans. Lots of crafting going on mostly.]
I welcome collaboration and help, and if anyone has any better ideas, or concerns, please bring it up. All of this is designed to help us all be a little less stressed and anxious if we can be, since we're all stuck together. The train is both very large, and very small, after all.
[OOC: If people want, we CAN play out the actual crafting parts? Otherwise while this will take time, please feel free to handwave that you've helped Raven. I'm down for either.]

Video
To make a long story short, ten years of being on the moon super messed up my sleep schedule.

Move to Action?

Anybody home?
Re: action
I'm sorry for the delay. I wanted to be sure people had time to ask me questions via the video.
[Heading for one of the cabinets, Raven talked as she gathered stuff.]
If I can ask, what kind of trouble are you having with sleep?
Re: action
[ If possible, she'd rather not explain the whole story... but if she has to, then she will. ]
Re: action
Re: action
"I, uh... I was stuck on the moon all that time. And since there's no real sun-rise or sun-set there..." She shrugged one shoulder helplessly.
Re: action
Honestly, Raven had been surprised the train didn't have some already. "In the meantime, I have some things I'm giving you which should help, and I'll make you a priority for an infusion to help you sleep from my new supplies." Raven had ordered Valerian which would help, and an infusion was probably the most effective way for Della to use it.
She talked as she worked, gathering together what looked like 5 large tea-bags. Bringing all 3 of the items she'd gathered over, she held up each one as she talked. "For now though, place this sachet in your pillow-case. It'll help calm you and prevent nightmares. The salve will do the same thing, and can be rubbed on your forehead. For the last, I really wish we had a proper bath, but they'll work in the shower. They're bath-tea-bags. Place them on the floor of the shower and let the steam and water hit it--it'll help you calm down and actually feel like sleeping. Each is good for about 2-3 uses." With the bundle Raven was giving her, they're were about 10-15 'uses' of shower-tea-bag.
If they had a proper bath, Raven would recommend soaking in the water--but at least with the shower she got more uses out of each bag.
Checking to make sure Della understood everything, Raven paused.

Della grinned once the explanation was over. "Dang, girl, you really know your stuff!" Praise, praise, praise! "That all sounds great! I was expecting maybe one thing, not a whole shipload!"

... But then, "What's, uh, melatonin, by the way?"

"I...am not actually sure. Maybe we shouldn't have you buy your own supply. I can try and consult with other doctors, see if they know if it'd affect you. We could also try it, under supervision, and see if anything adverse happens."
