They're from my homeworld, but anyone can buy them. They're tech. Designed for humans to use magic, or something close. [ She glances away, mouth pursed to remember her lines. ] So far we've got gravity control, curative magic, and synergy. Uh, enhancement magic. Few of you have bought your own, and they're working well so far.

If anyone else wants to buy one, give themselves more options in a fight, I'm in the gym until platform. Come try 'em out, see which suits you. ... Right, and they're twenty-five points.

[ Ugh, she feels like a saleswoman for PSICOM. ]

[ That's an item? Thanatos might have seen one in use but quickly dismissed as someone's personal power. The scope of what technology can do is still something Thanatos is grasping. ]

I would like to try the curative magic one. I don't know if it'd work for me, but... it might.

[ Yes, Death Incarnate wants to see if he can heal. He'll be in the gym in a few minutes, not just shifting to the spot for once. ]

[ she doesn't bother responding until he's arrived, spending the time checking that the Infiltrator manadrive is in working order. When he enters - through the door, rather than via inborn interspatial wings - she waves him over. ]

So I'm guessing you haven't used one before.

[ Thanatos still looks very tired as he floats over. He'd probably recover faster if he could just sleep and stay asleep for a full day or two. Unfortunately, Thanatos struggles with a lifetime of bad habits, being stubborn as hell, and a lack of Sleep to invoke divine intervention. ]

No. I didn't realize an item was responsible for it.

Humans back home can't use magic, so... [ Never really needed to make it obvious, she supposes. She moves to join him with the manadrive, noting his condition with a narrowing of her eyes. It might not be done to send the god of death for a nap, but she's certainly considering it.

Telling anyone to go sleep through platform day is an exercise in futility, though. Not to mention, she's fairly certain it's her fault to begin with, for ordering that last teleport. ]

[ Humans of her world can't use magic, but it seemed like Lightning could. Was it this machine, or is she saying she's not human? Well, it doesn't matter either way. Just like it wouldn't have mattered if Lightning had given the order or not. Zagreus was in danger. Thanatos would have gone to him.

Thanatos pushes up the red sleeve of his hoodie to strap the device on his arm, dials up as instructed. ]

Do those control the... manadrive, you called it, right?

Right. [ This one, the Infiltrator model, has three settings - an inactive state marked by a 0, and two settings marked in sharp Cocoon writing, Cura and Esuna. ]

Esuna's easy. Someone's poisoned, cursed... got something in their eyes, it'll clear it. You set it, charge up-- [ She points towards a simpler dial, casts, marked from 1 to 3 with a band of lights to indicate how far it's charged. Then taps one finger against his wrist-- ] and aim.

Set the dial, wait, and aim.

[ Thanatos repeats. He turns the dial to Esuna and watches as the bands of light glow one after the other. Then he holds out his hand towards the training dummy. He waits to see what happens. ]

[ The purple energy of the synthesised Esuna is gathering within the hood of the manadrive, but Light is content to watch it gather. After all, if these drives could be overcharged, they'd have been counted as weapons. It's entirely safe. ] It's waiting for a movement from you. Try 'throwing' it.

Throw? That seems tedious.

[ Thanatos starts to fumble with the straps holding the manadrive to his arm.

She might want to clarify, though to be fair, he's from a world where throwing a shield like a discus is a perfectly valid form of attack. ]

[enthunder]

Uh-- [ She reaches to stop him, hand resting on his elbow and pulling back to briefly prevent further undoing of straps. ] Not the drive. The spell. Just pretend you're throwing a ball.

... Lightly.

[ Thanatos puts his hand near the glow and feels it leave the device to sit in his palm. He studies how it feels before closing his fingers around it. With a spin, he tosses towards the target dummy. ]

[ Oh hey, it's the healer Alley had protected in the big fight at the end of last mission. ]

I'm guessing those won't work for someone with one arm?
