[Video] Kazoo 1 - Early Afternoon
[Ken's in the training gym and he looks... displeased. He huffs in annoyance, the orange-clad preteen with a look on him that seems more solidly 'angry teenager' than anything else.]
I've had to explain this a number of times so I might as well just tell everyone so people can stop being surprised and freaked out.
[He holds up a - well it looks like a gun.]
I know what this looks like. It looks like a gun. It isn't a gun. No bullets.
[He steps back so there's a better view and he aims it towards a dummy, pulling the trigger. Not even really a click from the 'gun'.]
It's called an Evoker, it lets me use my powers. I'm not shooting myself. I'm just going to start hanging a sign in the hallway near the entrance to the car when I'm going to be training so people stop trying to save me from my own abilities and probably hurt me while doing it.
[He holds up a neatly handwritten sign that says 'NOT A REAL GUN IN USE'. He puts the paper down and grumbles.]
It makes a gunshot noise, but it's not hurting me. I'm just saying this so I can actually practice.
... I mean I can show whoever if you want, but I'm just tired of explaining.
[And the ICP message finishes.]
[[If you want to hit him up in the training gym you're more than welcome to make an action tag!]]

[action]
It's not an adult in there now but a boy just a little older than he is, probably. He's seen him around the last couple of weeks but they hadn't spoken yet, the train had a lot of people and things had been chaotic with lots of people being small!
When he finished his message Romeo spoke, from where he had waited at the door, not wanting to interrupt.
"Did people get mad at you for using it?"
He didn't really understand how a gun let someone use powers, but he's seen many strange things both here on the train and before in the heavens.

"Yeah, they did. They thought I was gonna hurt myself... or that the thing I summoned was gonna hurt me. She won't, she listens to me..."
no subject
"What do you summon? Is it an animal?"

He can't even imagine that! It sounds so strange. He nodded, "Can you? I want to see!"
Even if it was strange!

He raised his Evoker to his forehead, taking a breath and pulling the trigger. A loud bang and the sound of breaking glass echoed through the gym as blue fog swirled around him. A strange creature appeared before him, spinning around her waist while keeping her legs still and revving the buzzsaw part.
A bolt of lightning came down from nowhere and struck the dummy before fading.

He peered into the blue fog, eyes widening as he saw the creature. That was really strange!
"Wow!" But very cool, especially when the lightning hit the dummy.

Uh, look. As a demon and an Overlord, I've seen things you can't believe or imagine. So when I say that symbolically shooting yourself to use your powers is really messed up, that's saying something.

Yeah, I know. But it's what I have to do.
Why are you a book? Don't seem like much of an overlord like that.

Wait. Why is your first thought defeating me?

[action]
Ken may find a strange girl with octopus tentacles for hair leaning against a wall looking at him, not especially saying anything. Just. Staring.
cw: suicidal imagery
He turns to the training dummy and raises his Evoker to his forehead. He takes a breath and pulls the trigger. A loud bang and the sound of breaking glass echo through the gym as blue fog swirls around him and a strange creature appears before him. She spins around her waist while keeping her legs still and then revs the buzzsaw part.
A bolt of lightning comes down from nowhere and strikes the dummy before fading. Another bang, and and she charges the dummy, leaving a tear in its head. Ken grunts and steps back, pressing a hand to his chest. A third bang and she appears again, this time spinning before a soft glow surrounds Ken and he stands up straighter again.
as Nemesis fades for the third time he tucks his Evoker into his pocket and looks over at Eight. Well?

Her attention resumes to attentive analysis, not pulling away except for when the boy clutched his chest. A moment of pain? Yet as soon as the energy is sent from the machine to the boy, he appears to be better for it, which eases her stance. The boy turns to face her, and she takes a moment to process what she saw.
"...a fascinating manifestation." She admits, finally, though a few questions linger. "But what is the connection with the pistol?"

[ Ple Two believes him, don't get her wrong, but that's worrying. ]
Seems like an awful joke.

[ Still, the aesthetics are concerning. ]
Is it so mysterious that someone here couldn't redesign the exterior?
