It's actually pretty new to me too. I never had a pet either... I just know that you have to consider the personality of the pet you have. Snapper seems pretty energetic, so games of tag or a little play fighting might be fine. Or if you want her to amuse herself, maybe you should find her a little ball with compartments to hide treats in?
