for the memory (horseshoe 16 evening, video)
[ Kaiba has changed back into his silver-black dueling outfit by now. He looks...slightly glum, but as serious as ever. ]
Alright, I'm just going to say it: that platform trip sucked. Not that that's your fault, newbies. But most of you probably don't want to be here either. Especially with the added chaos.
Red and Blue lost leaders. A third of the council is gone. I know the departed were dear personal friends to many of you, or even family. I generally enjoyed their presence too...and I know many of you feel more. I also know grief is unpredictable. And we're all going to be feeling raw right now. We still don't have answers, it's not fair. So I'm not going to push too hard.
But when we're ready, we need to pick up the pieces and move forward. That means distributing everything we've learned about the train thus far as widely as possible, in the event that the keepers of the information are the next to go. I have the document on voidsickness and the ministry's weird allegations against us, and I'm dropping off a copy of each at every cabin. I'll make requesting more paper for the printer a priority the next time the train stops.
I know someone mentioned a more personal archive of the passengers we've lost before...and that's going to need a lot of updating. I'm willing to print things for that too. But for the sake of the mission, if you have critical information, or even potentially useful information, and you don't want it to be lost when the conductor calls you? Tell whoever you can, or better yet, have us film a recording or type something up. Everyone with archival equipment or abilities, sound off if you can.

We should try and make some sort of shrine to them as well. Not a large one, but something to remember them by.
Re: Voice
video;
My condolences to you and all involved, as I know these things are difficult at the best of times. I just got here, so I don't have that immediate problem on my shoulders; I don't need the time it'd take to recover. That in mind, what can I do to help?

You can help by reading the information I distributed. It should be posted at every cabin now. And share whatever else we put up in the archives. If you see something that might be important...write it down.
The more people who have info, the less likely it'll be lost.

So in short: no secrets, all cards on the table. That seems simple enough.

Hopefully it sinks in this time. We need to give each other the best chance possible of making it out.

Thank you for this. I continue to be impressed by both the consideration and the diligence of the more experienced travelers keeping everyone up to speed.
Have you seen any incidence of void sickness...? And is it possible that the report you included was for another void train?
Do we know if there are many other transportation vessels like this one traveling the void?

What about packing and putting all the info in one place? Like in a folder where people can read it? I guess that's worth talking to everyone with. We wanna know everything that's happened on the train and on other worlds, right? I know Neet's got a lot of notes.
Make a copy or three if you're paranoid about it disappearing.
[ Added for the paranoid folks. Maybe he should be included in that? ]

As I had said when Feanor first proposed the measure, I am willing to aid in both storing information and in recording details - both for those no longer among us, and for those currently so if they wish to offer.
[Because some, for various reasons, did not want to be remembered.]

...Anything I can do in the short term? I don't know anyone here yet, but I know this kind of thing just...really sucks.
no subject
Just...meet your team, meet other people, pitch in when you can. That's all we ask.
Re: [video]
And I haven't seen it yet...but that warning was so serious, I had to save it. The problem with our comms system is that there's no archive.
And yes, it's been hinted to us that there are other voidcraft.

And I'm fine with my contributions being there.

Sorry, didn't catch your name. I'm-... [He paused, making a vaguely displeased noise.] ...Just call me 'Professor', if you don't mind.
Am alright keeping this short if you are. ^^;
[Webmind only wishes he could offer more.]
Communication is key, in this place.
no subject
I see... I'll keep that in mind.
And the video logs you mentioned... those have a certain degree of accessibility?
I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions, this is the first I heard of such an archive.
no subject
[ He'd offer to help, but he's pretty sure this isn't his strong suit. ]
no subject
This... This is memory based.
no subject
Unfortunately, we don't have a general archive of train broadcasts like this one. They're not saved.
And it's fine, the faster everyone gets up to speed the better.

I'm Seto Kaiba. From Orange, also an occasional advisor.

[She's the type that would have spent hours pouring over archives. So questions serve as the next best thing.]
Thank you. Are there any other sources of information about the train?
I did see the library, but didn't have the time to look through it heavily. It's strange, though... [How she could read the pages despite not really understanding what the symbols meant...]
no subject
Regardless, I'm a mage and a university teacher on Blue team.
no subject
...what's strange?
no subject
If we can't get a ladder, I'm sure I can lift you. I'm almost a ladder in height on my own, right?
no subject
Well, it doesn't look like any Octarian or Inkling script I've seen. Its strange how I could still read it.
[ He shrugs, but he's not sure if anyone would be very interested in reading his notes or not. ]
no subject
[ Calm, even look ]
This collection of information should also be made available in the library, I believe. New arrivals might check there before venturing to their own rooms.
no subject
It broke down once, and we weren't able to understand each other for an entire day---that conveniently happened immediately after we received the warning from the void ministry that I just distributed.
no subject
And...thanks, but I wasn't nearly as hard hit by the losses as some others. If some of the older crew are a little less receptive than usual for a few days, that's why.

If you're looking for something to do though, I don't mind.

[She legitimately thought that her Inkling had improved and that everyone else was fluent. In hindsight, that was kind of a silly assumption.]
Is that another "mysterious feature" of the ICPs?
no subject
I'm sure bonds have been made especially by those who've been on the train for some time.
And, yet. This is our goal, correct? For those who'd want to return - they'd welcome that chance.
no subject
[ He nods, appreciative. ]
I'll keep everyone updated as new things come up. For as long as I can, at least.
no subject
Did you want a typing lesson?

If I notice anything else acting oddly, I will mention it.
Thank you, again.

Nah, I'm good, I used to do some programming forever ago. I'll try and get it done as soon as I can.
no subject
As I'm of course impartial to the loss of those I haven't met - if you need an additional, steady hand - your work is worth assistance.

i am so sorry notif dropped feel free to ignore
DW ate my notifs :(
Let's see if we can get a ladder, first.
