Just doing a check - how many of you can make some kind of portable healing item? Like... a potion or stimulant, or, dunno, a cake, or something that'll heal injuries quickly. Missions are getting pretty dangerous, and with it liking to split the teams up so much, I figure it'd be good to start thinking about back-up plans in case a team's healer is taken out of commission or ends up 'visiting the control coach' during mission week.

Just... gimme an idea of what you can make, and what you'd need for it, I guess. Reply to standard coach, or come and talk to me.

[ She reaches towards the screen, then pauses. ] Oh, right. I've finished writing up my notes of the missions so far, so if you want to come and give 'em a look, get an idea of what you'll be doing in the future, that's fine too.

[ Bwip. ]

[ About ten minutes later, she's back: ] Just repeating something Tidus said - it'd be good to know the same for defensive supplies. Stun grenades, nets, deployable barriers. Magic or whatever else that does the same thing.

[ That hesitation is not because he's having trouble complimenting the scrawl. Inigo could compliment anything. It's more just him trying to find the right level of compliment that doesn't make it sound like he's flirting and ruin this all over again. ]

I've never tried with soda... I know energy drinks work, but I would be willing to try with a soda... It would probably taste better to most people. I'll change any amount of energy drinks you want, though. I'm confident it'll work.

[He ends communication and slips on his shoes before heading to the kitchen. He has been looking for a way to be useful, and learning to cook has been going rather slow, so this is definitely more up his alley. He finds a snack as he waits, leaning against a counter. Meeting new people was never really his strong point, but he's trying!]

[Nita may be using a levitation spell (and, more pragmatically, one of the rare rolling-luggage packs from the Luggage Car) to carry most of the energy drinks, but she's carrying one energy drink and one Purple soda each in her hands into the kitchen.]

[He holds the energy drink in his hands, a blue light shining from them for just a moment before fading. The drink can itself doesn't look any different.]

That's all there is to it. We should probably label them or something...

[Glancing between the energy drink, the soda in her other hand, and the luggage full of energy drinks behind her, she can't help but wonder:]

Think you have to handle each of these one-by-one, or will it work if you just put your hand on top of them?

Not potions, I'm more of a man of science, I'd say. Not that there's anything wrong with magic.

But I can make all manner of things from soothing lotions, a burn creams to just a nice cough syrup.

I'm not able to heal or create healing potions, but I do have abilities that can hold people or objects in place. It's not infinite, but I can use it to protect myself and someone close.

My offensive abilities are much more powerful to be honest.

"Fairly fast. It can be applied quickly if you have only a couple of seconds, but is better applied with proper treatment. Like sewing up a gaping hole or covering with bandages. It doesn't work instantly, but, like my magic, it speeds healing and cuts the pain. Plus it stops the risk of infection." Combined with his magic, it could cut the recovery time for a broken bone from weeks to a couple of days.

Looks like we've got a guy who can use magic to turn energy drinks into potions, so I threw Nita at him. [ what else... ] Several people are growing plants that'll help, one guy can replicate anything you give him, but if he does it too much he summons monsters...

[ people in here are weird. She brings up a hand for a lazy wave. ]

[ Does it have to be energy drinks? is a question that doesn't get asked when the guy who summons monsters comes up at the end there. ]

Monster summoning? [ Huh? ] How? ...Does it do something to his head?

[ That's the only guess Tidus can think of, though he isn't sure if that makes sense either. ]

The look she gives him is more amused than anything. She was half-dreading some cheesy, untrue line like, "it's as unique as you are!", so he doesn't have high standards to meet. ] Thanks. ... Maybe I'll borrow a computer and type it all up once I'm done.

[Considering the way she was raised she wondered if perhaps her thought process for the moment was because of that. Did they really feel more like an item for others than a person at times? Her mother seemed like she cared more for her hair than herself after all. But she knew that those she had met didn't see her that way.]

I can at least explain. It depends on what needs to be healed. I would put the hair over the affected area, or if the way Mother used it just holding it and brushing it seemed to work and I would sing a song. It heals pretty much anything from injuries to people being poisoned. [To making people younger, but no one really has a use for that one.
