 Hey, all you wild animals! If we haven't met before, the name's Della Duck. Now, I'm not tooootally sure if the calendar here really aligns with what time it was back home or even if time has real meaning at all here BUT ANYWAY! Far as I'm concerned, today is today and today is my birthday!

Now don't go worrying about parties and presents and stuff - I just got here, so we're all kinda too new for that. Instead, what I want is to make a whole bunch of new friends. So if you're up to it, give me three interesting details about you! I'll go first.

1. I'm a mom! I've got three boys, triplets, and they're the best.
2. I've got a twin brother! So technically it's his birthday too, and once again I missed out on the chance to celebrate with him... haaaa ha ha.
3. I'm an ace pilot! If it flies, I can control it!

One, I'm a sports player! I was the star player of my team even!

Two, my old man was a big name for the same game in his day too! Weell, less at the end...

How about... I'm pretty lucky when it comes to dodging lightning!

I'm guessing you hope you never have to prove that last one again!

You don't wanna hope I have to either! If I'm getting stuck in a giant plain with thundering and lightning 24/7, so are the rest of us!

Too bad my brother isn't here - we'd never have to worry about lightning strikes, since they'd all hit him.

Poor brother! You sure you want to put him through that?

I'm not saying I'd want him to - just that it'd happen. His bad luck is incredible.

Oh yeah? Got any examples?

[ Hoo boy. Where to begin? ]

Well... basically anytime we entered a temple that had a hidden treasure inside, he'd be the one accidentally activating all the death traps.

What, you're treasure hunters? How many temples like that were kicking around?

[sos_pilot]

Sooo many. We pretty much discover a new one every month.

[blitzcheer]

Huh. You after anything in particular? Where I'm from, people started going around searching for things called spheres. A lot of the history got forgotten for a thousand years, so now they're trying to recover it.

[sos_pilot]

Not really! We just love exploring, adventuring, finding, learning, all the good stuff!

So you're just a thrill seeker? [ Heh. ] Are death traps the worst you deal with?

[sos_pilot]

Oh no, we run into all kinds of trouble! Uncle Scrooge has a whole menagerie of bad guys we face now and then.

[blitzcheer]

Are we talking bad-bad guys, or 'hey, you shouldn't be snooping around here' "bad" guys?

[ Including air quotation marks. ]

More of the former, but we've had our fair share of the latter.

I bet! If you went to any of the temples where I'm from, you'd have priests in robes and the villagers after you too!

But, there isn't much interesting in those now. Unless they're doing something new with them -- everyone that used to be in them moved on!

Donated to museums, or hoarded by greedy treasure-keepers?

[ Depending on Scrooge's mood, it could be one or the other. ]

Huh? --oh, no, nothing like that! Beings called the fayth used to live in the temples--souls put in stones that used to help people called summoners to fight.

They were kept in them for a long time. Until recently--they really moved on.

[ ...which he knows how morbid that sounds, despite the happy ending...! ]

Um, but they wanted to! It wasn't fun sticking around all that time.

Oooh, so like ghosts, but not exactly! That sounds really cool!

If they're people hanging around after death, sure! ...unless they're like, hanging around other people around death? Pretending to be alive?

[sos_pilot]

Huh. Sounds kind like our our ghost at home. Duckworth's not so much pretending as little's changed from death... except now he can go through walls and turn into a demonic monster.

[blitzcheer]

Uhh, our Unsent are a lil' different from that. Sort of? I mean, you've got the ones that come back as fiends and attack people, but then you've got the other ones that act like other people and eat and sleep. ...I think.

[ ... ]

No, he definitely did. [ But, that makes him want to ask- ] Was Duckworth-- I mean, is Duckworth family?

Not by blood, but Uncle Scrooge definitely considers him one of ours. He's the most loyal butler you'll ever meet, and he knows a lot of ways to scare off door-to-door salesmen.
