Hello to all our new arrivals. I'm Seto Kaiba.

And I’m Yugi Mutou. Nice to meet you!

I've heard your complaints about the gaming car lacking variety, and I'm here to present the latest addition: Duel Monsters. It's a game of skill. You choose monsters, spells, and traps for your duel deck, your opponent does the same, and you begin an epic battle. There are as many strategies as there are people---you can fully customize your deck to a degree most duelists can never dream of, because I have copies of nearly every card in existence right here. And they're yours for the taking, if you dare.

[ Yugi laughs. ]

You're so serious, Kaiba. Anyway, it’s fine to lecture them about all this, but wouldn’t it be better to show them a duel?

I was getting to that, Yugi. I’ve set up a card table in the game room. It’s not the format I’d prefer to use, with my duel disks it’d be a truly exciting spectacle...but it’s all we have to work with.

Is it all we have to work with, though? I kinda think we should do this in the gym instead.

...what, why? Fine. Gym it is.

[Yugi has a small smile of triumph for a brief moment before his focus was back on the broadcast He waves as Kaiba turns back to the briefcase.]

Okay, but can you make, like, a fire "duel deck"?

Actually, yes. Every monster card has an elemental attribute, and those monsters have support spells and traps.

One example is Flame Swordsman.

[He holds up the card, then another]

You'd then fill the deck with fire monsters and then include a trap like Backfire to increase the damage to your opponent's Life Points. But be careful, because your opponent might have a counter to destroy traps.

We'll show you all of this in action during the duel.

[ Oh good. He's missed you. ]

So I can make a deck that's totally fire-themed?? [ COOL.... that's cool. ]

Yes. Any card in here is yours for the taking, but there's a limit of 40 per deck. You'll want a mix of monsters, spells, and traps.

But as Yugi so generously volunteered, we'll help you with that.

[Noct has played a game similar, but he is more interested as to why this "duel" would be better in the gym, of all places. He heads in, taking a seat as he waits for the duel to start.]

[ Hi, you had him at dueling, though he wasn't exactly expecting this to be some kind of card game. He's frowning slightly when he brings up a video to respond. ]

So a it's a strategy game, using cards? Am I understanding this right?

Yes.

If I had all my custom equipment, it'd be a far more exciting spectacle. You'd see solid light illusions of my dragons in stunning detail.

But we'll have to make do with a more mundane experience. It's still a challenging, exciting game without all the flair. But I'll put my points toward that once the more immediate supply concerns are taken care of.

[ Kaiba is dragging his card table toward the gym. He looks just as confused about the change of setting as Noctis. Why do they need all this space for such a small card table? Hes not expecting a big crowd. ]

[ Luke couldn't help but smile faintly at the slight brag. Solid light, hunh? That was something he really would like to see; even the holocom back home wasn't really solid. Maybe if they managed to make it to a technological world, he could grab Kaiba and see what they could find to make that possible. ]

I admit, I'm interested. It would be good practice for me.

[ Even basic strategy talk is... going over Ifrit's head a little. But hey, being able to compete and burn things (even in a game) are her favorite things. ] I guess I can check it out then.

Sure. The middle should be fine, there's enough space.

[ He shifts to one end to lift it the last few steps. ]

You were from the last group, right? How's this mess treating you?

Oh, that's the game he showed me before..! [ Yugi, she means. ] It looks like so much fun! I want a deck full of cute girls like his too! [ Priorities. ]

...you mean Dark Magician Girl and her friends?

[ Other than that, he can just picture her with a fairy deck like Mazaki's. He lifts those cards, then adds one more.]

This one looks like your kind of monster.

Hmm! I saw her, and she looked so pretty! And..

[ Her voice trails off as she sees the new card he's added to it. Oh no. It's so cute. Madoka looks so excited. ]

Is that a fairy kitty?!

Oh, that's that game from your world, right? Sounds cool fun! When are you gonna be running demonstrations? I might be a bit busy for the next day or two... HEY!

[ Insert pink pokemon giggling as Kaito floats up to the ceiling ]

Aw c'mon Princess, I promised you the chocolate cookie but AFTER, kay? Lemme just talk to Kaiba-kun and Yuugi-kun...
