Lookie Lookie!

[Yuffie flashes a bright smile as she waves her hand in front of the screen. It's a little hard to see, she's moving her hand too quickly, but there is a small green-blue glowing orb balanced between her index and middle finger.]

I found materia and it's all mine!

[Mostly because her name had been on the package.]

Oh yeah!

[She stashes the glowing white orb from view, shoving it into her pocket with a dexterous flare.]

Team black stuff. Council stuff. Casino night. All that stuff too. And anything else I forgot to mention.

[Yuffie is very obviously too distracted to actually mention those topics right now. She's been wanting her materia since she arrived and while it's only the one, she is ecstatic.]

[ooc note: I am on a hiatus this month as I try and de-stress from life, however, Yuffie wants to plan a casino event with team black running stuff. So if you are interested in that please PM this journal and I'll put your name on a list and start organizing that for next month.]

What is that orb?

[It glows and he's interested. As long as it's not Primal related he'll be fine. Please tell him it's not related to Primal energy... it couldn't be, right. That's from his world, not hers. Please let there not be other worlds with Primal energy.]

It takes skill to use but I never had trouble with it and I'm not going to let anyone who doesn't know anything about materia to touch it. [Because she has no idea how that will work...]

[He does sound relieved for certain this time. Though he remains curious, especially by that last part.]

[There's actually more disgust for Corneo in that sentence than Yuffie but...]

I helped take down Sephiroth. I'm not afraid of anything.

Sephiroth was obvious.

[He said it dismissively, but he definitely did not say that the guy wasn't a huge threat or very powerful. Even Reno knew there was a line in the sand with that one.]

It's the quiet things in the night that tend to get you killed when you least expect it.

[Reno was silent for a moment. But he wasn't done with that, not by a long shot. Shots were fired, he had to say something.

He was quieter now but still passionate.]

Shinra doesn't destroy everything it touches. It started out a company meant to help the people advance and the technology they created did exactly that. Sure, some things went in the wrong direction but Shinra Electric Power Company created a quality of life never seen before. The company created technology that made life easier on the people and unified them to work together towards a common goal, kept them at peace, gave them hope for a brighter future. It's large scale projects created jobs for people that didn't have any before and accepted anyone willing to work hard enough to get the job done...

[ a beat of silence ]

Look, you can say whatever you want about the Turks being the brute force behind the company 'cause yeah we did some things. But don't talk about the company like you know what it was like to live in Midgar. Lot'sa people relied on that company and now they ain't got nothing.

But we're gonna come back and we're gonna get it right this time! Shinra will rise again and it'll help the people live a great life in the future!

Yeah and your boss watched that same company subjugate innocent people, kill thousands and destroy the planet. What excuse do you have for all that shit?

And I know. I've spent the last year fixing things up in Midgar so that people had something! What did you guys at ShinRa do? You put your tail between your legs and ran off! You didn't even try and fix anything! I will not let ShinRa rise. There are better ways for people to have a great life.

[With that, she sticks out her tongue and hangs up.]

She didn't even let me explain what Shinra did to help people with the Geostigma... Tch!

[He could just...talk to the terminal. Technically, that's all they were doing anyway and it would still broadcast what he said. But it was kind of pointless if she wasn't going to listen to him, he supposed.

Whatever. He wouldn't let her get to him. He was a Turk and he always would be a Turk. And Shinra was going to rise again. Whether it was to help the people or go back to its old ways... he'd leave that decision up to Rufus. But so far it seemed like the way to go was to help rebuild the world. Reno could live with that.]
