24th Egret, morning. [Text]
[Oh gods, the Internet's back again.]
Hello again, Voidtreckers.
While I confess I would not be much use in helping to understand these dreams people are having, I have found something - several somethings - that may be of interest and use anywhere.
Earlier this week, a colleague of mine found books pertaining to the history of the Void, and potentially VoidCraft.
I have found books pertaining to Void Law. Though I remain uncertain as to whether they are physics textbooks, 'laws of the land', or actual laws the Void Ministry follows regarding administration of worlds.
Using that and related search terms, I have compiled a short list of books fellow Voidtreckers may want to look into:
Laws of the Void
Voidspace: What you need to know.
Filling a Void.
Law and Order
A Far Away System
System Shutdown
Empire of Stars, Champion
Empire of Stars, Resistance
Empire of Stars, Honor Lost
Empire of Stars, Hope Restored
Empire of Stars, Closing a Door
I took the liberty of looking up the names, if available, of previous systems this train has visited. If anyone wishes to know what the Empire of Stars was doing, this may be another object of interest.
Thank you for your time.
[And your screens.]

Since you've read em, why not just give us the relevant info? And save us humble mortals days and weeks of our lives reading through those books?
[Voice]
And so, unfortunately, I do not know what is in them either.
[He's not the snipe-y type, so you're lucky, Duo.]
And being as we are both new arrivals, we only have at most three points each. I am not expecting fellow passengers to go into points debt over this!
[He is attempting to crack a joke.]
[Voice]
[He's not a dick, he can admit when he's wrong and does it with a smile.]
Sorry bout that!
Uhh yeah, gotta save mine up.

[ He really just wants to spend all his point on legos is that so much to ask? But he has responsibilities. Ugh. ]
Re: [Voice]
But that's not what we have, alas.
[This would be the point where, if Webmind were a human, he'd nod.]
It could be considered a team exercise in and of itself, really; finding the relevant search terms and figuring out what to order next.
[Voice for responses, since Webmind hasn't fixed that bit yet. :(]
We shall see what happens when the team points are next distributed.
[Voice]
[Groans and sighs, it all sounded like a pain in his ass if he was honest]
I guess... that's a thing people can do.
Re: [Voice]
Perhaps if we all make the same request - for a Library car with materials from the shop - on the Feedback&Suggestions page, we could get these books that way, in addition to books we have not uncovered yet.
[Pun!]
It is another option, in any case.

[Duo laughed, yes, it was very much an idea he liked. There needed to be more options for entertainment at least. Books were a good start.]
[Voice]
If anything, I should be the one thanking you.
Re: [Voice]
[There's practically an auditory wink in there, can you tell?]

I wonder if there is a way to get the train to donate the books to the library, as you and Duo were discussing? But if it won't, I'll donate some of my points in order to purchase some books, and then I'll donate them to the library so anyone who wants to read them can.
Just let me deal with the dream first. I suspect that we're going on another mission soon.
[Voice]
['The people! The people!']
But yes - both efforts are most appreciated!
What is the usual timeframe between these dreams occurring and a mission being announced, Curufin?
[How much time do they have in which to GET prepared?]
Re: [Voice]
Re: [Voice]
That does not make them any less important skills.
Re: [Voice]
[Voice]
Thanks for the info though!

And I'll check the store instructions for how to order a book. It might not be before the next platform.
As for the timeframe between dream and mission, I think it has only been one day, or not much more than that. I mean, a Voidtrecker day.

[It'd certainly make sense why people don't talk about these books more often, if they have to wait to receive them for so long...]
And that isn't much time at all, by most standards.
[That is, not by HIS, but Webmind knows humans and such don't think as fast as he does.]
It is odd how the Voidtrecker Express arbitrarily determines time, however. These are not 24-hour days, and the months appear to be 30 'days' each.
[Courtesy of reading the only available Network 'archives' of posts, which only have times/days and cabin/car of origin.]
no subject
Nope. Not much time. We could be launched on a new mission in a day -- a Voidtrecker day, as I was observing. These are more like 48-hour days, and the months as long as two months standard earthly time.
no subject
How have you been able to perceive that? I admit time passes more slowly for me than most others on the train, but I hadn't observed that level of distortion.

Interesting.
I suppose this counts as exposure to living on a different planet, then; other worlds rotate on their axes at slower rates.
Though that explanation will not cover this situation, of course.
no subject
Maybe so. Even though the Voidtrecker Expresss doesn't rotate. [ He has a humorous image in his mind, the Voidtrecker spinning and rotating through the Void, flashing colors all the way! And the people inside tumbled and mightily confused. ] It's the lighting, I suppose. When the train's cabin lights go out, our bodies think it's night, so we are set up to experience day and night at certain intervals.
XDDDD I love that image.
[The mechanical beings, meanwhile, are relatively immune... as are the ghosts. What an odd combination!]
You're one of the few people I can think of who would get it! XD
[ The mechanical beings and the ghosts! YES. ]
