[Duo gives a slightly lopsided, almost nervous looking smile. He lifts one hand in a brief wave and then sighs.]

Look, this is gonna sound dumb. But does anyone have a hair tie? Even a ribbon?

[He holds up the remains of his hair tie, clearly snapped into two pieces and gives another sad sigh.]

That's a bad sign... Damn thing flew across the room!

Uh yeah, if anyone can stop by cabin A in sleeper 4 with something I can tie my hair with, you'll have a bestfriend for life!

Is there a special reason why? I mean by not cutting it at all you'd end up with hair length like mine.

[She assumes trimming means only taking a tiny bit off.]

[Probably. It was impossible not to see people here, there might be a lot of carriages but they were all served with one aisle.]

[He smiled, the offer to help was a genuine one, even if there was a hit of teasing to his tone.]

I cut to maintain it and it's length so it doesn't get outta hand. But cutting it off? ... I guess there's no real special reason.

[He could easily do that, if she wasn't busy of course. He didn't want to take up too much of her time.]

[Duo grinned widely and backed back into his room, letting the guy return to his own.]

[The name didn't sound familiar. The way he stuck to his friends, it wasn't too big of a surprise he hadn't heard of her.

He made a face at the 'wasp' suggestion.]

Ugh, why would you want to? Wasps are awful!

[He'd much rather talk about hair! Also someone took that very literally given how wide his eyes get.]

Really? Never? Whoa. No wonder it's so long!

[He was feeling so popular! When Duo opened the door it was with a big grin.]

[ Curufin grins back. He pulls the braided leather hair-tie out of his pocket and hands it to Duo. ]

Good to see you, too! Try this tie and see if it suits you?

[Duo took the tie with a happy smile and pulled the end of his braid around to try it. But first he needs to remove the tie he already had on but the braided leather one seemed to suit him just fine. And when he swings it over his shoulder he gives a surprised laugh.]

There's some weight to that!

[ Curufin folded his arms and leaned in the doorway. ]

Yes, and your braid is already weighty. I'll bet you could swing it and knock the crap out of an opponent. [ Grin. ]

[ And shortly thereafter he'll have a tap tap at the door ]

[With some nervous energy, Duo hopped up from where he'd been sat on his bunk and went to answer the door to Nerdanel and gave her a wide smile.]

Hi! Uh, come on it! Everyone's out doing things I guess...!

[Smirks and gives his head a quick turn to make his braid swish]

Stick some blades on the end and I have a handy weapon!

[ She smiles at him ]

[Duo's cheeks were tinged pink and he looked more than a little nervous, but he still stepped aside to allow Nerdanel into the room.]

Yeah, no problem. [He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a little awkward]

Don't usually let people mess with my hair. This is kinda weird for me.
